Discussion: White House Dismisses Texas Lt. Guv's Outrage Over Trans Student Guidance

“Well I think this does underscore the risk of electing a right-wing radio host to a elected statewide office,” Earnest said during a press briefing when asked to respond to Patrick’s concern about the letter.

Ouch! Clearly, Obama has sent the “give no fu#ks” memo to Earnest. Love the slam!

Josh Earnest really nailed Patrick for the right-wing sleazebag that he his.

I really can’t begin to tell you how sick I am of hearing our political leaders argue about - and our national media reporting on - bathroom policies, as if there weren’t more important things to discuss like global warming, income inequality, a shrinking middle class, and an as yet unfilled Supreme Court seat.

Is there anyway to keep Republicans from hijacking the national comment thread with this trollish bullshit and their Freudian gender identity hangups?

When I was in law school, five decades ago, there were 3 topics foreseen as future legal disputes, and we all laughed at how outrageous they sounded–gay marriage, animal rights, and sex-segregated public bathrooms.

We have finally gotten to the third, within my lifetime.

Not with media foaming at the mouth to pump up Trump, bash Clinton and/or Obama. Look at how NBC has been essentially promoting Trump over the past couple of weeks. Important issues are relatively trivial to the media when they can count on the GOP to provide them with talking points or divisive issues.

Another data point showing that we have responsible adults in the Executive Office of our nation. Let’s continue that trend by making sure Hillary Clinton is sworn into office on January 20, 2017.

Offering enlightenment to Republicans.

Sort of like offering blinding light to cockroaches.

What’s remarkable is how the laws essentially banning transexual persons from public bathrooms are designed to be hyper-punitive. They go far beyond stigmatization by forcing a minority group into highly uncomfortable situations.

Why do we call them bathroom laws? These laws have the practical effect of forcing transexuals to go to the bathroom in places other than public restrooms.

Why don’t we call these “Poop in the alley/park” laws?

In mockery of the GOP’s steadfast opposition to any reasonable gun regulation whatsoever, I call them bladder-control laws.

The risk of electing a right-wing reality TV host to elected nationwide office is far greater.
