Discussion: White House Denies Erdogan Claim That Trump Apologized For Violent DC Clash

This is a local matter for the DC police. What’s to follow up?

It’s good to be the dictator wannabe!

Now which pathological liar are we to believe?

The Trump White House correcting someone else? Has the Millennium arrived?

Hmmmm…who to believe, Erdogan or Trump.

Quite the quandary.

I’ll go with door number 3, please.

ETA: @nowarino beat me to it, I see.

Trump Lies
Fact.

Oh it looks like we are back in this cycle. Tomorrow Trump will brag about apologizing to Erdogan. The next day the White House will clarify their statement saying that it meant the exact opposite and that liberal media is getting it wrong. Etc, etc, etc

Is there a tape or an official transcript that backs up Erdogan’s claim?

You should ask Putin about that.

Well, DC is a federal district and the federal government has final oversight over it. That’s why the President is commander of the DC National Guard.

The White House on Wednesday denied Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s claim that President Donald Trump called him to apologize for an incident in May where Turkish security agents allegedly attacked protesters in Washington.

Erdogan’s account is true in every regard except for one. It was not Chiselin’ Trump who called to apologize, it was John Barron or John Miller.

Actually, I’m inclined to believe the pathological liar in Turkey on this one. Trump’s craving for approval means he always curries favor and says what he thinks the person he’s talking wants to hear one on one. He’s only the tough-talking bully man when they’re gone.

Like Ike Clanton in “Tombstone.”

‘Apologize? I don’t make no stinking apologies. MAGA! America FIRST!’ and the 33% roar…

Erdogan might be lying about this, but is there any doubt that donnie has no problem with anyone doling out violence to Trump protestors?

The readout made no mention of the May incident??? Why didn’t Trump tell Erdogan that his people are thugs? Oh, probobaly because Trump wants to do busines in Turkey. Trump apologized and it was left out of the transcript. Sad!

I’d tend to go along with that. Trump never apologizes to his political opponents, but we already know that he folds when he’s one on one with another national leader, at least, as you say, until he’s out of reach.

It’s really sad when the lying jackass authoritarian President of Turkey is more believable than the lying jackass authoritarian popular-vote-losing President of the US.
