“I want you all to stonewall it, let them plead the Fifth Amendment, cover up or anything else . …,”
“The tweet speaks for itself,” Spicer said
It does, it is a threat from a bully
“The tweet speaks for itself,” Spicer said, a well-worn refrain from White House spokespersons pressed to answer for Trump’s bombshell posts."
TPM posts thousands of these little stories a year but they were always missing a little context, which Esme has brought to them. And the wit doesn’t hurt.
I have to admit, I really don’t understand this. It seems to me that the Trump response would be to simply lie if he is, in fact, taping conversations in the Oval Office. Then simply erase, or get rid of, any evidence when that evidence is demanded of him.
Lying comes so easily to him that it’s almost his default position. What’s with this stonewalling?
More than anything, I just want to see the media band together and tell this badministration that they’ve already run this fire drill once in the less than 4 months this trainwreck has been in office and they’re simply going to assume the pissident is lying unless or until he proves otherwise.
Won’t happen but we’re all entitled to a political wet dream from time to time…
Trump needs to be impeached and thrown in prison.
There would need to be a criminal trial between impeachment and prison.
“The tweet speaks for itself,” Spicer said, a well-worn refrain from White House spokespersons pressed to answer for Trump’s bombshell posts. “I’m moving on.”
“… I need a shower.”
It’s a federal law that prohibits taping any FBI official without their knowledge - even for a renegade dictator acting as President.
Impeach - ask questions later
“I’m moving on.” = Spox for ‘I take the 5th’
“I think I made it clear last week that the President has nothing further on that,” Spicer said.
We’re hoping Obama or someone at deep State was actually doing the recording. We’ll let you know what we find.
“Locker up!”
“You’re describing a situation in which the President would defy the legislative branch’s request,” Simendinger pressed. “That’s what you’re saying.”
“I understand,” Spicer said.
Am I the only one who finds that a stunning exchange?
…and it’s pissing Andrew Jackson off, bigly! and Frederick Douglass also too…
Not to mention Stonewall Jackson.
…better than TicTacs…mmmmm…or so I’ve been told…
That’s pretty funny, and clever, but I must strongly object to PeePee being portrayed as Kermie.
Never. Blasphemous!

Spicer then decided he liked plants better than people and decided to start eating fertilizer in the hopes of becoming a bush.
