Discussion: White House Claims Clinton Campaign 'Lied' About Funding Dossier Research

She values most of all her sweet, sweet access to the Fuckin’ Moron. No way she says “Trump Lied” as needed.

Finally someone steps up to fill the Judith Miller Journalism Chair at the NYTimes.

I never understood what the NYT saw in her that made them want her. She was horrible at Politico during the Obama years.

Well lets play 4 dimensional conflation! The “Clinton Campaign” was a private organization and not obligated to tell anyone anything. It seems from what’s above to employee of the campaign lied about this. A sub-contractor did but he was under no obligation to tell the truth. It was Op Research. No one tells the truth about that. No private party is obligated to tell the media the truth. It is not a crime to lie to the media.

Did HRC lie about the Dossier? No. Do lies told by anyone change what’s in the Dossier? No. But aint it rich that Huckabee Sanders is pearl clutching about lying?

You beat me to it!

Vogel is awful too. To be fair he did write some good non-Hillary pieces at Politico during the campaign, but other than that his Hillary hatred was pretty obvious. When I heard the news he was moving to the Times I thought this wouldn’t do any good to fix their flaws about political reporting.

Hey Sarah, I smell pie!

My first day back from the salt mines. This is great. GO SARAH!! GO MAGGIE!!

I was just about to post this too. I think it’s fine for a reporter to say someone is lying…if they have proof…but adding this judgy…“sanctimony” line is wrong.

Straight reporters should only tweet copies of their reports. They should not add personal opinions.

Note mots media outlets are saying the DNC funded the research in their headlines, yet reading the entire article one will find out the Republicans began the research during the primary and there is no mention of who that was. Of course now this is going to be twisted to be about Clinton and the Democrats and the media will allow it to go on without question.

The JEB BUSH CAMPAIGN originally “Funded” the research into the “Dossier” with Fusion/GPS.

When Fusion/GPS was hired by the Clinton Campaign they OFFERED the Dossier to them. The Clinton Campaign NEVER USED IT because they thought it was “too salacious”.

This lame attempt to “pin” the origination of the Dossier on “Crooked Hillary” just proves that the CONTENTS OF THE DOSSIER ARE TRUE and will be used by Mueller against Trump and his cronies.

This is the old; “If the evidence is against you, attack the witness” rule.

What pisses me off is the GLEEFUL ACCEPTANCE by the MSM of everything in the WaPo headline, which is entirely misleading and FALSE. The body of the story PROVES IT IS FALSE, but nobody every let FACTS get in the way of a good “Clinton-Bashing”.

Yeah, it sounds oddly familiar, doesn’t it?

I’m reading it now.

Seeing how they have done this before (trump’s mexico trip) its likely that NYT has already revised that story.

This is a bit of a weird sideshow, but it’s out the dnc/clinton campaign in a weird position. Assuming the report is true, either they’re lying about funding the dossier, or they didn’t know they were funding it. Both possibilities are pretty damning.

The only thing Vogel has going for him right now is that his writing tends to lean anti-trump, but yeah, not necessarily looking at the playing field with a clean slate.

And good lord, that new publication, Axios…dreadful. Mike Allen got instant props from everyone in cable news, none of it worthy of attention other than he created a new startup. From Wikipedia:

Axios’ initial launch partners are JP Morgan & Chase Co., PhRma, Boeing, BP, Bank of America, Koch Industries, S&P Global, United Health Group, Walmart, PepsiCo and Cooley LLP.

That about says it all imo.

This is weird but I think I always knew this. So why is this a story today? Is it that now it is ‘confirmed’ or something?

This is odd to me.
