I half-seriously think they don’t understand that Flake will still be a sitting US Senator, presumably caucusing with the Republican majority, for more than another calendar year.
Once again, no sense or perception of time. In Trump’s addled mind, Flake either pulled his pants down, mooned McConnell, and walked out the door with his box of personal items, or he’ll be gone “next week, perhaps, very, very soon” (i.e., sometime between Thursday and never).

Can’t get any accuracy, generosity, or American values from these people even when they get what they want: when Sanders says “based on the lack of support that he [Flake] has from the people of Arizona” she not only glosses the fact that this is lack of support from Republicans in Arizona but, by implication, suggests they are the only ones she regards as people in the first place. Wonder if she would count Democrats and Independents as 3/5’s persons or just not at all.

I have no doubt. If they had that understanding, even just a modicum of it, they wouldn’t have so publicly alienated and humiliated those votes in Congress they desperately needed for “wins.” But that’s all they’ve done since January.
