I dunno man. I certainly understand the sentiment behind that comment, but I think it’s slightly naive to think that failing to ask and the absence of that information won’t function as part of the veil behind which discriminatory hiring practices can take place. Metrics are important.

Do you think they now ask, “Are you gay”, “Are you black”, “Are you pregnant”?
I look forward to the day when such a hire doesn’t merit a press release.
