I believe the Speaker is confusing Bibi Netanyahu, a right wing politician pandering to his domestic supporters, with the State of Israel, an allied nation whose interests often align with our national interest. Boehnerâs is a very unprofessional befuddlement.

If we want Israel to make peace with the Palestinians, we need to make our continuing aid to both groups contingent on coming up with a real and lasting peace. In particular, the billions that Israel receives from the US every year means that the Israelis never have to make peace with the Palestinians (in addition to propping up a series of right-wing governments, Bebeâs included, that are openly hostile to peace overtures).
If Boner think that calling Bebe a chickenshit is beyond the pale, his head would surely explode if anyone in the Exec Branch suggested that.
