I think the operative term will be Privatize (and therefore by definition improve).
I wish I shared your optimism,. But these are gigantic piles of gold which these people dream about every night. Privatizing would be a titanic flush of gold into the private sector.

If GOP members of Congress separated the tax cuts from their “healthcare” plan, I might believe they are actually trying to pass a healthcare plan, sorry as it would be. A Senate vote to repeal Obamacare would leave millions without healthcare, but it would also give the wealthy their tax cuts. I would not rule out the possibility that McConnell will do this.

Ryan is deemed the smartest guy in the Congress, the wonk to end all wonks, and of course yeah, “privatizing” has always been his dream just as ending Medicaid was something he dreamed about since doing keggers. The stupider Rs hearing this will fall in line and say let’s do it. They all fell in line to repeal and replace and now look at them, angry constituents showing up everywhere and going after them and the likely possibility that House Rs who voted to repeal but whose districts went to Clinton will be in jeopardy (going to happen in California). They’ll destroy themselves before they touch these programs. They’re called the third rail of politics and we know why.

Even Trump’s base knows their Republican Party of the 1% is totally incapable of developing and passing a healthcare bill whether it be now or as a later replacement. It’ll never happen…especially when they have to get going on impeaching Trump, Pence, and the lying Gorsuch.

Even a skilled political operator has to deal with the fact that this bill would certainly pick off vulnerable legislators. Besides, he said “respect.” You said “master” and to be fair McConnell has been very effective and creative at obstruction. The fact that the party as a whole is not very good at actual legislation is neither here nor there.

Ever wonder how so many Evangelicals could hold their noses and vote for someone whose character is so obviously contrary to everything they profess to stand for? Well … if he were as bad as all that, the the Good Lord wouldn’t have made him so rich, would he?
(This, by the way, seems to be a uniquely American variant of Christianism. Not to be confused with Christianity, at least the kind that thinks the Sermon on the Mount actually means what it says.)
