Their are two options. Whitaker is really fucking stupid and did talk to âsenior people/trumpâ (better find out who âsenior peopleâ are not) or he realized that talking to the White House was a likely ticket in light of his non-recusal to a jail Cell and stayed the fuck away from the investigation.

This is why he was specifically trained to state he never talked about it with the POTUS or âsenior WH officials.â It was a very careful answer. He told Kushner all Trump needed/wanted to know and anyone who believes otherwise simply isnât sentient.
It didnât sink his chances because there was absolutely nothing that was going to stop Grassley from advancing the nomination and McConnell from making sure he got confirmed. Nothing. He could have pulled down his pants taken a crap in front of the whole committee and they would have pushed him through to the floor vote.
