We have de facto recognized North Korea as a nuclear power and torn up the agreement that was to prevent Iran from becoming same. Maybe you’re a more optimistic person than I am.

OT but this maybe what Putin and Trump talked about in their closed door session. Former U.S. Russia Amb. McFaul is being publicly threatened by the Russian govt. The Magnitsky Act continues to rile Putin.

liberal, I’m with you one thousand percent. I’m no fan of Kelly’s baser character, but he is intelligent. As for Mattis, God bless him. I pray he stays the course, in the sense of the Captain has to stay with the ship, even if it’s sinking. I have a couple of kids in the military, and Hair Furor terrifies me. I spent 4 years in Berlin, surrounded by 22 Soviet Divisions, listening to the East Germans’ “stuff.” Nothing about that time was as nerve-wracking as having this Orange fuckwit in the White House.

What about ‘death by a thousand cuts’? (immigration fiascos, EPA rollbacks, tax bill, ACA demolition, voting rights, SCOTUS, undermining rule of law and institutions…) It’s a Hobson’s Choice, but I might take the Iraq war again over all that.

I am wondering if–in other admins–Bolton was used to letting his freak flag fly free. this would have only been encouraged in his Fox gig. Now, he might be startled to find that there is a bigger Freak in the room that he has to talk down…just a speculation.

It was interesting to hear Pence after the Helsinki mess. Total suck up mode. On and on about what a great job Trump did at the summit. Pence has his head so far up Trump’s ass that it will be impossible to remove Trump without throwing out Pence as well.

No, not even close in my opinion. We are still bogged down in military fiascoes due to the Irag invasion. But just as importantly Bush did all those things as well, and did most of those less incompetently than Trump’s administration. You get those as a given with a Republican administration, but the Iraq war was that extra gift which keeps on giving.
