Discussion: Whelan Claims He Had No Contact With WH Or Kavanaugh Before Tweets

Yeah, well I’m afraid I have to call “Bullshit” there, Ed.

And I also call “Shenanigans.”

Correct! Take the words of one who knows - Steve Scmidt: “When I ran the Roberts and Alito confirmations Ed Whalen was the singularly most important and effective outside advisor involved in the confirmation effort. He knew every detail when it came to our strategy and everything he did was closely coordinated with the WH effort.”

GOP has blinked, proposing Wednesday, according to CNN…

well Ford said Thursday so they can blink again…

Oh, well, if Whelan says that, it must be true. His credibility is sky-high today.

What they mean is that he didn’t preclear the exact wording and the second-by-second timing of his tweets.

“If your or any of your twitterforce are exposed and humiliated, the president will disavow any knowledge of your actions.”

Note that he didn’t cite the GOP members and staff of the Judiciary Committee in his denial, or any other intermediators. Just sayin’.

I think we should ask the GOP to write a glossary so we can be clear what their definitions are for words such as

  • ethics
  • truth
  • to lie
  • to have no contact
  • rough horseplay
  • to apologize
  • rule of law

The list is really much longer, but this is all I have energy for just now. This is all so wearying!

What, so they had something more important planned for Thursday?

How did Whelan, who went to school in California, know the address of the female classmate who also attended the party - and who has never been publicly identified? He sure as all heck coordinated with SOMEBODY!

It actually need not be bull.

Note that Whelan made no mention of key federal courts operative from The Federalist Society, Leonard Leo.

Whelan and Kavanaugh are both extremely close to Leo. They both have deep deep deep ties to The Federal Society, and both have actually worked with Leo on past nominations under the GW Bush administration - when Kavanaugh worked for almost 4 years as President Bush secretary, while Whelan worked both in and in conjunction with the TFS in his writings for NRO and various other conservative political publications and D.C. right wing wank tanks.

And Leo has basically worked inside the White House - albeit UNOFFICIALLY - ever since Trump was sworn in, moving to get judges nominated and run thru the confirmation process like an assembly line in a widgets factory.

So why did Whelan leave out Leo? Because Leos the bridge for everything that’s going on with this story on the Republican side. Leo is who convinced Kennedy to go when he did n the WAY he did, Leo i who talked Trump into nominating Kavanaugh, and Leo is right in the middle of this cockamamie doppelganger gambit, getting from Kavanaugh the description of Garret that he needed and then feeding that and the concept to Whelan.

Sounds like “collusion”, right? Also, conspiracy. That’s Kavanaugh, Leo and Whelan: co-conspirators in a since-abandoned attempt to defraud the U.S.

Unless Whelan went to school with Kavanaugh he had to get the name of the middle school teacher and addresses from someone who did go to Georgetown Prep. Who was that person?

It actually need not be bull.
[/quote]Even if made technically correct by carefully constructing sentences, purposefully leaving out a name or position, or parsing words … it can still be, and in my opinion is, Bullshit.

“Collusion” and “Conspiracy,” as you point out, also fit quite well.

In any event he should be sued for libel from hell to breakfast. That middle school teacher can buy a lot of supplies with the award.

Now, now, don’t assume he’s lying; has anyone specified the time frame defined by “before”?
