Party before Country.

The fact that there is so little GOP opposition to this widely-scorned and reviled bill illustrates the deep moral rot at the heart of today’s Putinized Republican Party. The GOP has deeper concern and solicitude for what Russia wants than it does for the majority of the American public.

This will be a defining moment for these people as well. The question is, will they define themselves as strong, caring people or will they define themselves as cowardly self-interested weaklings, unwilling to stand up to McTurtle and Drumpfie.

No need to stage mock die-ins if the bill passes.

One might think that they could just pass a law making it illegal to refer to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act as “Obamacare” and have the same effect as passing a law that only about 20% of the American people support. If the ACA wasn’t called “Obamacare”, Republicans wouldn’t object to it.

Did you see the hacking stats on the south Carolina? 150,000 attempts in a low visibility race. Red States have little incentive to stop supportive hackers from determining the outcome of elections.

And they don’t seem terribly concerned about elections or hacking these days.

Considering that it was first enacted by a Republican, Romney, they can’t abide Obama on anything.

And it was their nickname for it.

The 8 year demonization of Obama, the terrible black man who should never have been allowed in the White House, and the thing called ‘Obamacare,’ which in the Republicans’ minds has nothing in common with the reality of the Affordable Care Act - that demonization and promises to get rid of both the man, his memory and the health care law have as much to do with the desire to pass this bill as anything. How embarrassing would it be to not destroy the thing you’ve been calling the evil death panel, job-killing, life-destroying worst thing to ever happen to the American people? Especially when so many of your minions still believe you.

If it passes the Senate, will the house pass it too? I could see that happening with a strong speaker, but with Ryan? Dunno.

If McConnell doesn’t get it this time will he wait for 2019? He might have better numbers and fewer moderates then.

What Will They Do Now?

Cave.

Why do these people spend 100% of their time trying to do something that 80% of the population abhors?

Yep. I’m really worried that’s exactly what they are going to do.

Because if history is any guide, they will suffer little to no consequences for doing so.

It is all kabuki theater, all practiced with the same script and dialog they have used for many years. The curtain on the Republican “magic show” is about to rise and the country will see things disappear from our pockets and reappear in the pockets of rich folks.

The “mind reader” will begin his performance by declaring that there is a sucker born every minute and most of them vote Republican. The stage will darken and he will declare that many of us will lose real healthcare in exchange for the freedom not to see doctors. Ahhh freedom.

The Rump family “punch and Judy” show will continue to add more puppets and they will all slap the shit out of everybody else’s puppet and speak with Russian accents. That’s showbiz.

The final show of the Republican performance will be a fireworks display that spells out “elections have consequences you’re all screwed” while patriotic music plays so loudly that nobody can hear the truth.

All the Rump voters should keep the tinfoil hats on and get ready to spin the noisemaker and throw that handful of confetti because the show is really just beginning.

You make your bed…

Backbone? You can’t find a backbone in an invertebrate. I’d settle for an exoskeleton at this point. General Buck Turgidson these clowns are not.

Groupies Of Putin. They admire his strong leadership qualities and wish it was that way over here. They vote as a Group Of Plutocrats.
