Well, that’s what she said.
We know what she was thinking:
“I really didn’t think it was possible, Senator Cruz, but you are even more smarmy and disgusting in person than you are on TV.”
This Yate’s smack down of Cruz was almost the best part of the whole show.
Best part was her going back to WH the next day to talk to lawyer again so he can ask her-I paraphrase: "What’s it to Justice that someone in the White House lies to someone else in the White House?’
The rePukes are so down the shit-rabbit hole with Orange Pustule Hitler that they only disgrace themselves by just sitting in the room.
“Look, I understand that people of good will and who are good folks can make different decisions about this. I understand that, but all I can say is I did my job the best way I knew how,” Yates later added. “I looked at this EO, I looked at the law, I talked with the folks at the Department of Justice, gathered them all to get their views and their input and I did my job.”
Can’t say that about too many folks in the WH, in the Senate, nor the House.
INTEGRITY MATTERS
Thanks to Sally Yates,
might we have two Watergates?
Nice, if Trump is done -
Nixon’s partner Donald T
ever bound in infamy
The not real “John Kennedy” is a a vapid loser!
I want to know what oozed up out of a swamp and impregnated his mother.
Based on what I heard today during Sally Yates’ testimony, the Trump cabal have a lot of questions to answer…why didn’t they take then Acting AG Yates’ warning of Flynn seriously? Were they being COMPLICIT in his unlawful actions?
That was an excellent comeback to Cruz…there’s really no excuse for the AG to be left out of a discussion like that, or for lawyers under her to be told not to inform her of their work. That makes the Trump administration look even worse…they look like they were trying to hide activities they knew wouldn’t pass judicial muster and shoved them through secretly. The courts won’t look kindly on those kinds of actions.
Too bad we have a political hack like Sessions in there now…there are Republicans who believe in the rule of law (yes, really!) and would have done what Yates did, but I doubt we’re going to see any of them in positions of power in the near future.
Is it just me, or does Sally Yates sound like Elisabeth Warren, not merely because of her accent, but more so because of the clarity, calmnness, and total effectiveness of her responses.
When asked to comment the official assistant to the president said “I don’t know what it means to be complicit. But you know, I hope time will prove that my father’s administration is the success I know it will be.”
What we learn (again) is that the GOP is willing to overlook Russian connections as long as the GOP is in power. The travel ban stuff is a distraction.
What I like the most about the couple of clips I’ve seen of her responses is that she comes across as extremely competent and non-partisan.
And there is probably nothing more frightening to these guys than a smart, tough woman. If they want to really mess with Trump, they’ll name a woman as special prosecutor.
According to Republican economics, one’s job is to suck up to the CEO genius, brought in from some other region probably, to lecture experienced staff on the importance of loyalty.
One’s job is to make the CEO look good in his random decisions, because he deserves the deference. After all, he’s paid so much.
He must be a better person. Like the King.
Someone with more understanding of the details would have to opine on this, but is a concerted activity to deceive the attorney general about the activities of the white house office of legal counsel in itself a violation of the law? It seems that there are certainly circumstances under which it could be.
I yelled “BOOM” at the TV when she had that come back to Cruz.
There are still a lot of career people in the government, and with the failure in getting political appointees in place the Trump administration is in deep bird water.
Can the courts that are considering the legality of the Muslim Ban Executive Order take judicial notice of Yates’ testimony under oath regarding the attempt to conceal from the acting AG? It seems to be relevant. If so, thanks Republicans, for bringing this out in the open.
One thing I learned is she is a better lawyer than Ted Cruz. She took him out with professional ease. She handed him his hat and I understand he sulked away a minute or so later tail firmly between his legs.
