Discussion for article #247131
Does TPM raid The Blaze for their reporters now?
I view investigating unaccounted for bullet holes as the involved government agencies trying to reveal as much truth as possible as opposed to a cover-up worthy of conspiracy.
Maybe the FBI agent acted outside rules of engagement and was hoping that no one would notice.
Good law enforcement requires that all members be held accountable for their actions.
Not that this would deter someone looking for conspiracy, but those on the fence hopefully can lean towards sanity.
Itâd be nice if unarmed black boys and men could get this kind of thorough investigation into their shootings.
I still do not see how this matters other than potential discipline. It does not change that the guy was killed for justifiable reasons. Not sure what conspiracy they are going with here at all or what the end game is other than general sort of thing.
As this in no way looks to exonerate what this guy did or that he was dangerous and was shot down after showing himself to be a threat in the end.
Nothing I read in this article changes my understanding of what happened.
Now, if we learned that the vehicle was riddled with dozens of bullet holes and that other occupants of the vehicle had been struck, that would change the story.
Maybe, pending everything they could have missed or thought somebody in the car had a gun aimed out too. Not saying it is ok, but it would be somewhat justified. It is still a far cry from conspiracy nuts saying that they filled the car full of bullets. If this is to be believed than there were like eight shots fired and two were in the car
they DID confirm that heâs still dead, right?
I mentioned this yesterday, but my theory is that, since they were members of the Hostage Rescue Team, he violated all sorts of rules and standards by firing the weapon in the direction of the vehicle where the âhostagesâ were.
That, or there may be something to the idea that he fired too early, in which case, shame on him, pull his badge and kick him out. Then, decide whether to prosecute him for lying about it. Arguably, there was a short time period between the vehicle stopping and Finicum getting out during which no shots were justified.
However, it canât be stressed enough that they missed.
Hereâs how this will goâŚ
âSee!!! They was trying to assassiminate him and Obama gave them the orders!!!â
âYeah, but you believed that before anywayâ
âBut now I gots proof!â
âSo you admit you believed it anyway, right from the get-go, without any proof?â
âDidnât need any! Itâs obvious!â
âThen why are you so excited about this new information?â
âBecause now I gots proof!â
âProof of what?â
âThat Obama something something gestapo nazi hit squad argle bargle!!!â
I donât see how any of this lends credence to the conspiracy theories. He resisted arrest, he fled, got his truck stuck in a snow bank after almost hitting an FBI agent, he exited the truck acting erratically and repeatedly reached into his coat, all while repeatedly saying âgo ahead and shoot me.â The evidence tends to show that LE officers were incredibly restrained in their response. Tamir Rice was not given nearly so many chances to survive his encounter with the cops.
The two unaccounted shots are a sideshow that donât appear to change the fundamental facts of the case.
Iâm sorry butâŚhorsepucky. If the FBIâs bullets were not found in the body this is still a righteous shoot. No âhands up, donât shootâ, no conspiracy theories. Finicum did not have to reach for his gun. Period.
The words âgo ahead and shoot meâ add to the story. They show his state of mind, and provide more leeway to the justification of the immediate shots when he began reaching into his jacket. People have been shot for reaching for their wallets, but in this case it was clear that the shots were immediately required.
I am not inclined to go on some conspiracy related rendezvous because âŚ
Iâm not having any problems with my medications â
So it is now confirmed that he had a loaded gun exactly where he was reaching just before he was shot (I donât know that Iâd read that before) and new info indicates that, in addition to his claims of wanting to die a martyr for the cause, he told the LEOs to âgo ahead and shoot meâ while he was reaching for said loaded gun.
No one in the car was hurt - not even close - so I donât think this new info changes anything. I just wish that LEOs wouldnât feel so obligated to lie and cover up for each other because it makes a righteous shooting now look suspiciousâŚ
Good thing 1988RANGER was given a 2-day timeout yesterday.
Or you wouldaâ got both barrels and a CAPSLOCK!!1! from his keyboard Sniffy!!1!!one!!!11!

Which is a real shameâI was hoping heâd explain which one of the rogue FBI agents was the $2000 per night hooker that offed Fat Tony. Well I guess itâll just have to wait. Tic. Toc.
This was a very slanted article Not what I expect from TPM. BTW, you didnât mention that the LEO closest to LaVoyâand the one he would have shotâwas armed with a TAZER. That was very surprising.
The FBI and Sheriffs Dept have been lying. Whatâs news about that? Finicum apparently wanted to be killed and they obliged. Thatâs whatâs called a âjustified shooting.â This time a right wing nut. Most of the time African Americans and other minorities. All in a dayâs work for the American police. And justifying it is all in a dayâs work for TPM.
The lawyer for standoff mastermind Ammon Bundy told the Oregonian that the news Tuesday changed the way he looked at the entire incident.
âIâm going to have to go back and reconsider all the money I can make off of the new conspiracy theories that Iâve created in my head,â Mike Arnold said.
I might think this would change things except that none of the bullets that were fired by the FBI hit a person. I understand that they have to account for all shots fired - good on them for that, too. But this doesnât affect how I see what happened. Granted Iâm not that kind of conspiracy nut, but they donât need proof anyway.
I kind of feel like this is a bunch of nothing.
