Couldn’t happen to a scummier jerk.
With any luck this will drag out for at least another month or so. The fight might just drag both candidates down enough to give Laura Kelly the edge.
Actually progressives are pulling for Kobach. Laura Kelly, the Democrat, polls very well against him. She doesn’t do as well when pitted against Colyer.
I am really surprised that Kansas GOP hasn’t trekked up to the Koch mountain to get Charles’ preferred candidate.
Once they started the pretense of having a primary they have to see it through.
Oh please the serfs are suppose to do what their lord and master wants.
What’s The Matter With Kansas?
Other than being Kansas?
This is about perfect for the Democrats…Kobach is a jerk, as well as an unethical person, and the shenanigans around the vote count are likely to turn some Republicans off to him. Having the fight drag out only hurts him more. The Democrats really have a shot at taking the governor’s race if Kobach is the candidate, which means helping to keep Kansas from being gerrymandered after the Census.
Jerk, unethical, and also a total flop-shoed grade-A clown. That last part is important!
Kobach is nervous, as he should be. His voter suppression efforts in Kansas may have fallen short.
I don’t know. I fly over…
I’d like to see a fair recount since I always figured he cheated in elections. This is the first election where my district had a paper trail at all - we just had to trust that the electronic total of Kobach’s machines was correct.
One problem - there’s an idiot Independent running in the race who will probably pull enough of the vote to make it a toss-up between Kelly and Kobach. Orman is too pure to pick a party.
There is a popular independent named Greg Orman. I thought he would draw from Kelly, but lately he has been running against Nancy Pelosi. I suspect he is going to pull a lot of Republicans from Kobach. The question is will he pull enough to win, or just enough to elect Laura Kelly.
Great article @allegra. I’m goofy, get excited when an article is especially easy & interesting to read while covering bunches of information.
This seems likely. It’s sorta delicious to watch Kobach of all people get in this particular kind of tangle with essentially the GOP.
Ugh. Glad you all got a paper trail this time. If I had to trust Kobach I’d assume it was fixed. He’s so low and stupid.
Yeah I wonder how the counties’ numbers didn’t match the SoS posted numbers? Hmm

Great book:
What’s the Matter with Kansas? How Conservatives Won the Heart of America
by Thomas Frank
And @allegra quoted my former chair, Michael Smith, twice! Only there’s no department of Political Science at Emporia State–it’s just the Dept. of Social Sciences, unless things have changed drastically in the 3 years since I’ve been gone.
Editor, that seventh paragraph needs your attention. Thanks in advance.
