Trump calls her “Hopey?” These folks are all way more than unusual . . . . they’re sick, disturbed, and bizarre. That’s why Shanahan being given a pass (initially, at least) doesn’t surprise me. I think you have to be unbalanced and dysfunctional to be involved with Trump in any way.

I don’t really see her putting herself in legal jeopardy for Trump, there’s no benefit in it for her. She always seemed to drift through their orbit without really being one of them, and now that she’s out she probably doesn’t feel the need to do anything but follow the law. It really depends on what her lawyers have told her…I bet the WH lawyer tries to interfere all the time so it will be interesting to see if she ignores them on anything.

And, for once, can we please leave comments on her appearance out of it? It’s a bit hypocritical to say that everyone should be treated for who they are and then make snarky comments about the appearance of people whose politics we disagree with.

I think the most fascinating long-running thread in this nightmare is Trump’s complete inability to comprehend what loyalty is, how it is earned, how it is challenged, and how it is lost. Like friendship, it is beyond his grasp, and this failing is not one of degree, but it is a binary failing. And he does not know he does not know it. He experiences things he believes are loyalty and friendship, but they are wholly different and more base than the relationships normal humans experience.

You may as well ask a rock to fly.

This comment was unnecessary. She does her hair and makeup similarly to all professional women, unfortunately an expectation in most professional settings. You’re just pushing this as a negative because she’s also young very attractive.

From what I understand, she has a lawyer by her side dissuading her from answering even rudimentary questions. I fear this closed session will have been a complete waste of time. Time for contempt charges.
