“What comes next,” you ask? How about the wrath of 2018 voters? Enjoy all that.
Finding another 42 ways to blame Obama, Clinton, Comey, voter fraud, fake news, minorities, Muslims, etc?
Just like every other thing the GOP fails at…
“Actually for the president to hear some of the dialogue that’s taking place in our meeting, that would be very insightful on his part"
Winner of today’s stupidest comment, and clearly not insightful.
Eliminating health insurance coverage for 22 million people, kicking 1000s of old people off of medicaid and out of their nursing homes, etc. so that millionaires and billionaires can get a YUUUUGE tax break is going to become more palatable with a bit of negotiation? The lot of them are fucking vultures.
Perhaps it is worthwhile to stop for just a minute and remember that Obamacare IS the Republican alternative. It began as a creation by the very right-wing Heritage Assn for then Republican governor Mitt Romney who made it work in Massachusetts. It was billed as a free market plan because it utilized healthcare plans in the marketplace. Once Obama adopted Romneycare as his own, only then did this Free Market health plan become ‘socialism.’
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said he wanted an updated baseline score that measures what the current marketplaces look like that’s more recent than the March 2016 baseline used in Monday’s score.
“The CBO folks were challenged on a lot of their numbers, and they agreed to do some new findings,” Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL) told reporters. “Their statistics were not up to date and they admitted that.”
Innumerate dipshits who really think jiggering the baseline to Obamacare after the most recent acts of sabotage will make the numbers less politically catastrophic are innumerate dipshits.
Has the Mayor of London tweeted Donnie about this stunning failure to protect his voters?
What comes next? My money is on bombs dropping in Syria. Trump needs his ego stroked, and positive press always follows blowing shit up.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)…had met with Trump and claimed on Twitter that Trump “is open to making bill better.”
The problem, of course, is that fundamental disagreement over the pesky issue of exactly what “better” means.
There was a time when Republicans loved that plan, and they particularly loved the individual mandate. It meant that there could not be any freeloaders.
Now, of course, it’s tyranny.
This bill is dead, dead, dead!!
Why? It’s not because Republicans give a shit about poor people, that’s for sure.
Roughly 80% of Medicaid recipients have their benefits controlled by private insurance companies as Medicaid managed care plans. The eight largest for profit health insurance companies have increased their Medicaid managed care membership six fold since 2003. They didn’t do this out of the kindness of their hearts or because they were forced either. Medicaid managed care is big business for health insurance companies and they don’t want to see cuts in their revenue.
The highest paid CEO in health insurance is Michael Neidorff-- the CEO for Centene. Centene’s business is almost entirely Medicaid managed care plans. They’re also the fastest growing health insurance corporation in the U.S. Neidorff probably made a dart board with McConnell’s face on it as soon as he saw the Senate’s bill.
Add to that the fact that nursing homes (which are mostly run by large corporations now) and hospitals rely heavily on Medicaid funds and you have a perfect storm of angry phone calls from rich healthcare CEOs to every single Republican Senator. That’s why this bill never had a chance
Hey guys (and a few ladies), I’ve got an idea. Now that you’ve delayed the vote, maybe you’ll have time for some hearings and debate. If you just took the time you now spend in secret meetings and getting together with the Village Idiot at the WH, that would free up some opportunities to have experts and real people talk with you about the effects of the bill. You could even invite the Democrats.

INTEL: I’m hearing McConnell wants to come to an agreement by Friday, have CBO score it over recess, then vote in mid-July.
These gopers would do well to heed the old adage: Time Wounds All Heels.
Oh Snap! as our Brit friends would say.
Pussy Paul Ryan telling Democrats to PLEASE STOP DOING ALL THAT “RESISTANCE” STUFF BECAUSE IT’S SO MEAN AND UNCIVILIZED AND IT’S CHEATING WHEN YOU TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT WHAT A BUNCH OF FREAKING ASSHOLES WE ARE!!!

That’s an Objectivist for you; claims to be all about free will, then cries when differing ideologies and reality punch him in his withered ding-dong
Somewhat O/t
But the Republican Senate leaders have made it known that they would much rather negotiate with Mr. Pence than the president, according to several White House and congressional officials. And some of the White House’s efforts have clearly been counterproductive.
“I’m so mad, I’m gonna hold my breath until they vote for my bill!”
