Sanity, now that is unexpected.
It took them 3 months to figure out that a guy deemed “not qualified” by the ABA is, well, not qualified to be a federal just. And that came only after it was revealed that he hadn’t bothered to note on his disclosure forms that his wife works for the White House counsel.
I’d say that this is par for the course in this maladminstration, except that withdrawing the nomination is actually a major advance for these highbinders.
Hmmmm…this seems suspicious.
I bet he was porking Omarosa!
But we already have a POTUS deemed “Not Qualified” by everyone but Russia, Racists, and the Koch Bros, that the country is not moving forward with.
I guess Trump and the Gang (didn’t they sing “Celebration”?) can’t cypher as good a Jethro when he’s out by the cement pond with Ellie Mae and her critters.
(Talley did disclose to the Senate that he was part of The Tuscaloosa Paranormal Research Group in 2009–10.)
And they said he’s not an experienced judicial nominee…
In one post about gun control in December 2012, titled “Aftermath of Connecticut Shooting” and written three days after a gunman killed 20 children at Sandy Hook Elementary School, Talley said, “My solution would be to stop being a society of pansies and man up.”
Man, I thought he had an eminently punchable face before I read that.
Oliver Wendell Holmes just vomited in his grave.
What? Please! Senate just confirmed the OTHER ABA voted unqualified candidate to judiciary!! This is the REAL story!!
“Two days after the American Bar Association rated Leonard Steven Grasz “not qualified” to be a judge, the Senate Judiciary Committee held a confirmation hearing Wednesday for Grasz’s nomination to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit.”
Which should deem him “not qualified” as a human being.
I expected he would vomit eventually, since his corpse has been spinning at about 54000 RPM after McConnell shoved Gorsuch up America’s ass.
“President Donald Trump nevertheless nominated Talley in September as his
pick for the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama.”
What is with alt-president Trump and Alabama? What is with Alabama? With the exception of those who voted for Doug Jones, the whole state and those associated with it seem rationality-challenged.
This just popped into my mind after reading about that. Wonder why.
Yeah, but I gotta admit that I’m a wee bit sad that I’ll never be able to read this guy’s opinions. I imagine that they would have been wildly entertaining, if terrible for his district.
Talley appeared to defend “the first KKK” which he incorrectly claimed “was entirely different than the KKK of the early 19th Century.”
Well, the early KKK had a decent pitching rotation and their infielders were first rate. Free agency decimated later teams, especially the mass defections to the Republican party in the 80s and 90s.
I rather would have thought that being a self-proclaimed “Ghost Hunter” would have made him uniquely qualified - just not as a judge - but instead have Nunes hire him to chase down Alex Jones and Brietbart conspiracies on behalf of the white house.
Obviously someone far more insane and less qualified came to Trump’s attention to fill the vacancy on the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama. That’s the only logical explanation for Talley’s pull out.
Will wonders never cease? Perhaps this had something to do with yesterday’s election, or did the GOP finally realize just how out-of-touch they are? I’ll take it either way.
I’d heard the Senate blue slip rules were being waived for judicial nominations, but if I’m mistaken maybe Jones’ election was a factor.
I agree that this sounds fishy. Must be more to the story. They just had a “not qualified” judge confirmed, so clearly that doesn’t bother them. Must be more “skeletons” (in addition to the ghosts) in his closet that was going to make the confirmation uncomfortable.
