Right. Because we already PAY to protect Trump Tower and the White House whether his fat ass is there or not. We THEN pay if he’s at one of his ‘clubs’. We pay for his kids flying around making deals for access with the President and he wants to ‘convince’ us he’s SAVING us money? And they call this guy a BUSINESSMAN?

Let’s not forget there are two questions here and “saves the US money” is only one of them. Maybe it does, net, save the government money vs. his alternatives. Who can say? Question #2 is how much dollar volume of business does this create for the Trump Organization? Who’s paying for/getting paid for the rooms? The catering? Etc. (Are these properties comping all this just because?) Seems like his choices to use his own properties amounts to steering government business to himself. In ANY other case where the government is spending money to procure goods and services, this would be flat out illegal. Not to mention the free publicity and promotion.

I would assume he is at a NJ golf course rather than Manhattan for two reasons. First, it’s a golf course. Duh. Second, I assume the suburban location and logistics of a county club make it far easier to isolate him from the indignities of any protests than in Manhattan, where he might actually hear the crowds while dead of night tweeting from his bajillion thread count gold sheets.

I’m surprised we haven’t seen a No Bid Contract sail through Congress granting the Trump Organization development rights on the White House grounds to build that Trump Presidential Golf Course.
Of course membership will be limited to Trump and any FUTURE Presidents and the Licensing Fee for the Trump name will be waived during Donald’s Residency

You know what I do to save money?
I stay home. I don’t go out. I don’t go on vacation for the wekend. I stay at home and find a good movie on TV.
If Trump’s true intent was to save someone else’s money, he would do the same. But he doesn’t because it’s all bullshit.
He didn’t go home because thin skin didn’t want the bad optics of him FINALLY scoring a “victory” w/ the House and having groups of protesters to greet him when he goes home. Because that would have erased the positive him and his admin have been thirsty for for the past couple of months. Instead, the negative news coverage would be shown.THAT’s why he stayed away.
