Discussion: WH Spokesman Ties Uproar Over Trump's Judge Attacks To SCOTUS Blockade

GOP: “We love judges so much, we just can’t bear to make any more of them. It would spread our love too thin.”

Nice pivot, Josh.

“For Republicans in the Senate who say they have concerns about the Republican presidential nominee’s views as it relates to judges, to also say that they are not going to confirm any judges to preserve the ability of the Republican presidential nominee to potentially make those appointments,” Earnest said."

Did he complete the goddamn sentence/thought or what?

I don’t think the pivot expressed the complete sentiment he was aiming for.

“For Republicans in the Senate who say they have concerns about the Republican presidential nominee’s views as it relates to judges, to also say that they are not going to confirm any judges to preserve the ability of the Republican presidential nominee to potentially make those appointments,” Earnest said.

It’s lacking the part where he should have said “makes a mockery out of the faux outrage the Rs are expressing at being expected to work during the president’s last 300 days.”

@sniffit I didn’t hear it either. It’s just hanging out there.

Yep. Smooth transition and “The Importance of Being Josh Earnest”. Can’t miss the serious implications Drumpf would pose if put in charge of selecting the next Supreme Court Justice. In fact, its almost downright unthinkable.

As I said in another post.

Trump has made clear that for him there is both an ethnic and religious litmus test for consideration to be a federal judge.

This is fairly explicit from the Trump camp.

Every GOPer who says they will continue to “support the nominee” implicitly agrees.

This should be all over the media…

Since the media is trying to preserve it’s lazy horse race based coverage and Trump click bait expect little followup to this end.

Judge Curiel involvement with the Trump University lawsuit started in 2014. Donald Trump started all his racist Mexican rhetorict/build a Wall in 2015 - seems like Trump has used his running for president to railroad these lawsuits (that he will most likely lose) and to make sure that the case doesn’t stay with Judge Curiel.

We don’t need horse race coverage, but I guess we are going to get it anyway. A story arc that one of the presumptive candidates for President is as mad as a March hare is as good as a horse race.

Ladies and gentlemen, on tonight’s Folies du Trump segment, we will be examining Mr. Trump’s involvement in a lower form of higher education, Trump University.

If they have to appear to be fair, there’s plenty of baggage in Hillary’s train, too.

But in each case, give us the honest story with the background needed to understand it.

This point needs to be driven home several times a week from here to … the time they hold an up & down vote. Yay!!

The full quote should be:

"I guess I would just point out that it’s a little ironic for Republicans in the Senate who say they have concerns about the Republican presidential nominee’s views as it relates to judges to also say that they’re not going to confirm any judges to preserve the ability of the Republican presidential nominee to potentially make those appointments.”

You know, President HRClinton might consider Judge Curiel for her short list for her first nomination for SCOTUS.

Glad this was brought up at this time. We know Mitch McConnell is doing the same thing as Trump. Unless Congressional Republicans get their own radical conservative appointment, they will slander even the most well qualified judge as biased against them.

Only crackpots and corrupt judges need apply? You betcha.

Oh, thank you!

It would be most satisfying if she could wait until the Trump U verdict is passed, but no doubt Trump’s attorneys will continue to wrangle endless delay.

Senators blast Trump’s racism, but hold a High Court seat for him

This is the headline on Rachel’s blog.

Doesn’t it say it all? The GOP is so racist and fascist that they cannot operate within a republic any longer.

Trump has confirmed why his 11 Supreme Court possibles are all white (http://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/meet-trumps-supreme-court-shortlist). He obviously believes that no one else can judge white people like him.

No, The SCOTUS is too important. There is a giant difference between the requirements to be a successful District Court Judge and a successful Supreme Court Justice.
