Yeah. I really think I got this google thingy down pat. I’m pretty good at it if I do say so myself.

Trump just cannot love America more than he loves Soviet money. He just loves the money!

Name ONE US-based bank that will do business with Trump. Answer? Not a single bank in the US will do business with Trump anymore. Only the Germans and Russians will sully themselves.

Run for office- the 2018 elections are 10 months away! And if Trump and Louie Gohmert and Steve King can get elected what’s to stop a qualified candidate?

Become a Precinct Committee Officer, sometimes it’s a Ward officer. You’ll meet with neighborhood Dems and get out the vote. Find good citizens willing to run for office.

Register people to vote. If you need to help people overcome the GOP-led Voter run-around help them do that.

Run for School Board. Make sure Civics is being properly taught. Think a majority of America knows how government works? Just 26% of eligible voters in America voted for Trump and half of eligible voters stayed home last November. Today’s 12-year olds will be voting for President in 8 years.

Run for Mayor, City Council, County Commissioner, Borough Assembly.

Get appointed to your Planning Commission. Know everything going on in your community.

Run for State Legislature or Congress. The next census is in 2020, just a year and a half from now, when we redraw Congressional Districts. And Trump is ALREADY trying to rig the census!

And get rid of GERRYMANDERING! Safe GOP seats gave us such intellectual giants as Louie Gohmert and Steve King. In most cases it’s the state Legislature that draws Congressional boundaries. Make it FAIR, OPEN and HONEST! We can do this!

Overturn Citizens United. Money is NOT speech and Corporations are NOT people- at least not until Texas executes one, and overturn any voter ID laws that are clearly an attempt to disenfranchise the poor and people of color.

Doing a cut-and-paste to generate the list saves work, and it also helps feed the meme that the list is just political blathering with no basis in fact.

“Yet the administration paired that move with a surprising announcement that it had decided not to punish anybody”

That sentence needs some work. They are in defiance of Congress and are breaking the law with this announcement. Actually, they have been in trouble with the law for not invoking sanctions against Russia for some time now.

But its this media concept of saying “they decided not” that just irritates me to no end. The White House is breaking the law. Not some old law, but once that was passed early last year.

Congress needs to file suit against the administration, probably Mnuchin as head of the Treasury, stat. And draw up articles of impeachment. The first day of Congress in 2019 should have nothing else on the calendar than reading them into the record and starting the process.

Too true. Today I wrote mine – and said that they are violating the constitution by allowing the executive branch to flaunt a law – and it IS a law – regarding Russian sanctions… Senate vote was 97 to 2… House was also overwhelming on that vote.

This nonsense has to stop someplace…

Trump and the GOP’s plan is coming into focus. They are going to fire everyone who was involved in the Russia counter intelligence and criminal investigations. They are going to go after the Mueller Investigation by firing Rosenstein and then Mueller and trying to stifle it by oversight. And they are going to do nothing about Russia in order to reap benefit from the Russian Intelligence operations in the mid terms.

They are scumbags, pretty much all of them.

Yep… you are so right, and it is so lopsided. I’m pointing at the constitution, and hoping for grass-roots outrage. All of us can write, or email, or call – and remind our senators that they voted for sanctions (except the 2 that didn’t) –

Right now, today, I want them to do their job – if they like it or not. ;O)

Yes, of course, this is an impeachable offense. Trump has violated his oath of office which requires that he see that the laws are faithfully executed.

But if you agree that this is what should happen, you have to vote for politicians willing to do so.

This particular impeachable offense* is SO very visible, and so egregious, and so infuriating – and so unconstitutional, AND there are so many ON record that support the sanctions - Time to have everyone in the country go back to high school government class and relearn what the Congress is supposed to do. Or learn for the first time if we weren’t paying attention back then.

Even the ‘who cares’ people may be paying a little attention to politics today due to State of the Union.

*ETA my thinking is that it isn’t his only one.
googled Nixon’s and there were Obstruction of justice, abuse of Power, and contempt of congress… in those days failing to turn over tapes right? in these days failing to enact a law.

They had until yesterday.

But the Democrats are divided. Did you hear what Ben Cardin said?

The administration should not rest in these efforts and I expect a frequent and regular dialogue on this issue.

That was the gist of his response. It’s a far cry from what Eliot Engel said:

The Trump administration had a decision to make whether they would follow the law and crack down on those responsible for attacking American democracy in 2016. They chose instead to let Russia off the hook yet again.

One of the two that didn’t explained his vote this way:

“I am strongly supportive of sanctions on Russia and North Korea. However, I worry very much about President Trump’s approach to Iran. Following Trump’s comments that he won’t re-certify Iran’s compliance with the nuclear agreement I worry new sanctions could endanger it.”

He was right in the sense that the bill included “poison pill” sanctions against Iran that had nothing to do with Russian activity.

The political Trump donor list is the entire presidential administration, the Russian Cabinet, and the Forbes magazine’s Russian billionaires’ list.

There. Fixed it.

I’m afraid this is what happens in an autocracy. The first thing to go is any semblance of checks and balances, in the press, and within the courts, constraining any legal opposition even if it goes against norms or established rule of law, and a takeover of our military by cloaking what they’re up to, and by answering only to The Dear Leader and his designated subordinates. ICE is already operating on that principle. First under Kelly, now under some other vile and ruthless successor. As soon as tRump starts shopping the courts to get whatever decision he wants, game over…and by game, I mean our democracy as we’ve known it to exist since our founding.

I am not hopeful today for our country.
