Discussion: WH Releases List Of 78 Terror Attacks It Says Are Ignored By Media

Where’s Bowling Green, Mr. #SoCalledPresident?

Could any of these have been prevented by Trump’s travel ban?

Odd, I have heard of all them. Many quite extensively.

Perhaps the Illiterate Ogre hunched over his Android in his WH cave hasn’t – but then, it’s no surprise. But it’s not the fault of the press.

Jiminy crickets, when is Sphincter gonna get sick of being trotted out like the village idiot every morning so that all and sundry may laugh and hoot at him and his ridiculously ignorant, boorish FĂźhrer.

didn’t read the list 'cause I’m lazy but did it include the OKC bombing courtesy Tom McVeigh?

or the Bundy Clowns standoffs?

the Colorado Theater shooting?

to name a few

so it goes from unreported to under-reported to not giving the incidents “wall-to-=wall coverage.” Now we see the motivation for this critique: Trump want to be in charge of the media, too.

Does the White House also think that Fox News under reports the over 35,000 gun deaths in the US each year with white on white shootings and suicide being totally ignored? We have a gun violence crisis that kills more Americans than most wars!

Does the White House think Fox and the Wall Street journal are ignoring Trump’s breaking the constitution by using the White House and tax payer money to save his failing hotel and golf empire?

I’m sure they also accuse the press of ignoring Trump’s billions in loans from Putin and Russian banks laundered through Panama and the Cayman Islands.

Well since well over half of them occurred outside the US I’m gonna take a stab at NO. :smirk:

Indeed most of this list (from the screen shot) appear to have taken place outside the US.

Also I simply googled things like “Philadelphia January 2016 Terror attack” and found multiple articles written on how the FBI was in fact investigating an attack on a city police officer as a terror attack. The first of which was in the Washington Times. Didn’t find an example where that wasn’t the case, but I gave up after 5.

Well if the Illiterate Ogre is reportedly only watching Fox News then maybe that’s why he is uninformed? So the jab is not at the “press” but a certain TV News Channel? :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t see Montreal on that list. I wonder why.

@Austin_dave Thanks for the correction. My mind has been with the victim of the Bowling Green Massacre. I hope she doesn’t recover any time soon.

speaking of under-reporting terror attacks, this from the Times editorial this morning:

There was, in fact, a terrorist attack shortly after Mr. Trump issued his immigration order: a white supremacist, officials say, armed himself with an assault rifle and stormed a mosque in Quebec City, slaughtering six Muslims during their prayers. Mr. Trump has not said a word about that massacre — although he was quick to tell America on Twitter to “get smart” when, a few days later, an Egyptian man wielding a knife attacked a military patrol in Paris, injuring one soldier.

I checked the Danish cases,

The first (feb 2015) one had lots of coverage here in DK and probably also internationally. It was a ‘lone wolf’ attack from a young criminal born in Denmark and of Palestinean roots with a long list of crimes. He killed two persons and was later killed in a shot-out with the police. He could have been radicalized in prison. His primary target was probably Swedish artist Lars Wiiks, who had drawn a caricature of the profet as a dog. (both US Dept.of State and the US Ambassador offered help and condolences).

The second (Sep. 2015) was an knife-attack on police-officer in a refugee-camp, no dead and probably not terror (The Palestinean culprit was to be returned to his homeland after being declined refugee status)

The third (Sep 2016) was a shot-out when police tried to arrest a suspected drug-dealer of Bosnian origin, 2 officers and a bystander wounded, the suspect was later killed in another shot-out. Probably not a terror attack

2 out of the 3 Danish cases are probably not terror attacks.

Looks like anything involving a ‘brownish/muslimish’ person is water to Donald’s mill.

White House spokeswoman Lindsay Walters said later on Monday that “these American gun related deaths are so pervasive at this point that they do not spark the wall-to-wall coverage they once did,” according to the Washington Post.

There, I aimed her projection at the more accurate topic.

A quote from the WaPo article about Trump blaming the media:

“Trump’s terrorism blame-game is in keeping with how he ran his campaign, looking for scapegoats at nearly every turn. He often blamed his own failings — a poor debate performance or a gaffe or a primary loss — on the media or other perceived enemies, and he fed his own conspiracies that his adversaries were out to undermine him.”

Another glaring example of how this guy is so dangerous.

To be fair, I think FOX mentions Chicago about once an hour.

New additions to the list include Pearl Harbor and the sinking of the Lusitania

The list is very familiar. All were reported. I would argue that wall to wall coverage would give the terrorists undeserved victories all out of proportion to their military success.

That leads us to the queastion, why does the President want the terrorists to win?
