Having said that, Trump is likely to be right on this one. Would we have wanted FDR’s communications with Churchill before Pearl Harbor to be open to isolationists in Congress? No.
However, the protected nature of such communications is just one more reason why Trump’s mental disintegration (forget about his absolute lack of integrity) makes him unfit for office.
Even if he’s right, demand it and force them to deny it so it makes it look like he’s got something terrible to hide.

Any info they did provide congress would be a pack of lies anyway, and it would be difficult to dispute those lies.

If pressed, he would probably say that he and Putin discussed how Russia helped Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election in exchange for the Uranium One deal. (Maybe not crazy enough.)
