The entire presentation was bull crap from the get go. And the walk-back doesn’t matter in the slightest. The damage has already been done. Every major nightly news org last night lead with some eversion of ‘Israel has evidence Iran is still trying to get nukes’. And that’s all most voters will ever see.

Just like the lead up to the Iraq war, this garbage works. The dems (and the left) need to finally deal wit the fact that most voters are not political news junkies who sit around on TPM al day digging into the facts. The right knows how to manipulate the MSM to get any message they want (real or fake) out to most voters to see. These fake dog and pony shows work and the Dems MUST come up with a way to counter it.

I suppose it’s not out of the question to suggest that Netanyahu is playing Trump with this? Trump has decision time nearing and along comes a “half a ton of documents” that will certainly push that decision in a direction Netanyahu’s been wet in the pants for. What’s frightening is Netanyahu is smart. Very smart. And he’s ruthlessly selfish. He could’t care less what happens to the USA or the world as long as Israel gets all the Isreali’s want. At the top of that list is a USA / Iran war. And Trump, who’s not smart, might be a sucker for it. The method worked on Iraq.

Except everyone knew, with complete certainty, that Iran was lying, and they signed it anyway. The fact that they lied about the past had, and has, no relationship to what they did since signing the agreement.

Bibi also testified before congress that Iraq had WMD and that toppling Saddam would lead to a bloodless coup in Iran. For those keeping score he was 0 for 2 on these. No functional WMD found in Iraq and Iran became a major Mideast power with Saddam gone. Attacking Iraq became a geopolitical blunder of monumental proportions.

Has or had? The White House is quietly walking back a charge that Iran maintains an active nuclear weapons program, saying it really meant that Iran had one before the 2015 nuclear agreement.

That would be the nuclear weapons program that they verifiably stopped as a result of the “worst deal in history”, right?

I’m going to see Back To The Future Part 2 this week. Always makes me think that, somehow, we all wound up in an alternate universe where Trump is powerful, corrupt, and elected POTUS!. And pains me thinking that there is another reality out there somewhere where Hillary Clinton won in 2016. Doesn’t help that BTTF2 Biff Tannen was modeled after Donald Trump.

Good piece. Really makes clear that the steaming nugget of batshit at the very core of Bolton’s world view is that the rest of the world’s nations are essentially not sovereign and get to exist at the pleasure/forbearance of the United States’.
