Discussion: WH Lowers Expectations On NK Summit: Just Arranging Meeting Is 'Big Success'

What positive movement is she talking about?

In fairness, the Trump bar for ‘big success’ is low enough that snakes have difficulty slithering beneath it.

Well, considering that a day Trump doesn’t actually start a war or drool on his shoes is a success for that administration, I guess you could call it that.

When the limbo/expectations bar is already touching the floor, it really can’t be moved any lower.

Oh - the audience is fox news - Sarah, you are going to have to work a whole lot harder to lower expectations in that house of mirrors . horrors.

They’re only doing this so next year the Orange one can say, “I was there. I was in 'Nam.” And 36 million of America’s finest will believe him.

Do they give a Nobel Prize for arranging meetings? I mean doing that and then showing up requires a major effort.

It is a success for NK, for the US not so much.

Just arranging a meeting for the President of the United States with a dictator desperate for international affirmation is a “Big Success”, Sarah?

How far our country has fallen under Donald Trump.

Also, the NFL is moving the goal posts so kickers only have to make them from the 1 yard line.

“Just arranging a meeting is a big success”. Much like Mrs. Von Holst when she’s trying to get me to clean out the garage.

Yes, just arranging the meeting was a big success. Other big successes for the White(s Only) House included remembering to book a hotel room, something the crack staff learned a lesson about at the G20 summit in Hamburg, and, probably an even greater coup, pre-arranging deliveries of food for the dealmaker nonpareil from Yum! Brands, Inc. and the McDonald’s Corporation.

“We’re disappointed we weren’t also able to secure 6G network services,” the former North Little Rock Tent & Awning model said, “but that’s to be expected in a shithole country like Vietnam.”

Next they’ll be saying getting Fat Ass to stop watching “Fox and Friends” long enough to get him on the plane will be a “big success”.

“Just arranging a meeting is a big success”.

Sounds like the kind of thing Harvey Weinstein or Bill Cosby would say.

No. But they do give No Bail (sur)Prizes to ensure court appearances.

The rationalizations of Donnie and SHS have grown so, so tiring. Spewing absurdities is no way to run a government.

can’t we just pay to send the tRump balloon over? it’d be cheaper and just as effective.

Just arranging the meeting is a big success? Well, Huckleberry Sanders begins her day with a lie (meaning that the sun came up). But wait, let’s be fair. If you mean that it is a big success for North Korea by, once again, fulfilling a cherished goal (denied by past US presidents) by meeting as equals with the current drooling moron in the WH without giving anything up, and likely getting unilateral concessions as the cherry on top, then I guess it may actual be true from a certain point of view (as Obi-wan famously noted).

Looking on the bright side, the NK meeting might not be so bad after all. I was afraid that Mr. Trump might start a war to distract from his legal and investigative troubles. Instead he declared a fake national emergency to build a fantasy wall and set up a hasty meeting with the leader of NK. Not good, but as the tech guy said in the 1st Jurassic Park movie, “It could have been a lot worse”.
