Cut loans and graduate students. Okay, I think I know what they have plannedā€¦

Letā€™s seeā€¦ We could attempt to reduce tuition costs, giving more people a chance at collegeā€¦ orā€¦ we could reduce financial aid, making it harder for the less affluent to compete with the rich for limited college admissions.

Easy call. And, as an added benefit, if we cut down on poorer students rich people wonā€™t have to pay so many bribes! Multiple problems solved.

Is it just me, or is her snotty spoiled bitch face becoming even more annoying than her fatherā€™s?

If Ivanka is involved or DeVos claims itā€™s great, watch your wallets. These two do NOT have your best interests in mind.

I mean, how can two pampered snowflakes, one given everything on a silver platter the other never having attended a public school, know a damn thing about education?

Sen. Patty Murray, the top Democrat on the Senate education committee, says the plan misses the ā€œroot causeā€ of the problem: ā€œthat college costs are rising exponentially and most students canā€™t afford college without taking on massive amounts of debt.ā€

Just like most everything the cost is going up but wages are stagnant. A lot of people I went to college with worked summer jobs that helped pay for either books and tuition or room and board, parents or loans picking up the other.
The part about states not adequately funding their state schools is also a big problem. And thatā€™s what gets cut when you cut taxes.

Billionaires making college education more exclusive? Never saw that coming.

Funny thing. Hot on the heels of the USC entrance bribery scandal, it raised tuition fees 3%.

So the answer to rising college costs and student debt is just to make it impossible for The Poors to ever go to college. Keep them all in for-profit trade schools where they belong. Yes, Ivanka, thatā€™s brilliant.

ā€œWe need to modernize our higher-education system to make it more affordable, flexible and outcomes-oriented, so all Americans, young and old, can learn the skills they need to secure and retain good-paying jobs,ā€ Ivanka Trump said

donā€™t go to college to broaden your mind, learn things, unlearn things, start thinking for yourself - go to become a desk drone so you can spout biz-speak like ā€˜outcomes orientedā€™ and ā€˜architectingā€™

I actually agree with this. Itā€™s not rocket science, Colleges have every incentive in raising tuition and other fees, itā€™s not like the kids are not going to college because is too expensive, they will pay whatever they can and borrow the rest both overestimating the benefits of the college education and underestimating the dragging effect of the debt. (A major in Psychology from Kennesaw State with 50K in debt is worse off than someone who did not go to college at all )

The states funding of colleges is a problem, but so is miilion dollar salaries of the varsity coaches and the super fancy facilities they have to attract athletes.

Now, now, her daddy earned his way in with his excellent grades and brilliant personality without a student loan - why donā€™t you all try hard the way he did?
