even assuming you are correct and that all this stuff will come out…

Trump’s strategy is about delay. The claim of executive privilege is colorable enough to delay any final decision until after the 2020 election.

there is one “non-impeachment” strategy that has not yet been tried – subpoena witnesses, and then provide them with immunity from any charges arising from claims of executive privilege, grand jury secrecy, etc.

Is there any legal impediment from Robert Mueller making this statement today:

“President Trump and Attorney General Barr, among others, have egregiously distorted and misrepresented the findings of our investigation, and in some cases have outright lied about its contents. I look forward to testifying in Congress to set the record straight. Every American deserves to know the full story. To do any less is to make a mockery of the sacrifices of those brave American women and men in uniform serving in harm’s way around the world. They are, after all, serving to protect our democracy.”
