"I think that there are a heck of a lot of U.S. companies that have a lot of sales in China that are basically going to be watching their earnings be downgraded next year until we get a deal with China. And I think that that puts a lot of pressure on China to make a deal.”

And this ignorant asshat is an Oval Trailer economic adviser?

THE PRESSURE IS ON DOTARD TO CAVE IN ASAP.

This kind of “strategery” makes no sense at all. Hence the reason why so much failure abounds.

Hassett is a smart guy. He knows better than this. Why he’s working, and shilling, for this maladministration is a mystery.

Maybe China will feel sorry for those poor US corporations? Asian governments are people, my friend—very empathetic people.

For some reason I never understood, the regime is filled with morons who honestly believe,
They need us more than we need them.
It’s the kind of crazy nonsense racist feral trumpers convince themselves of to justify their “inherent superiority.”

Between this and the talk to Schumer about how he can’t cave because he will look foolish, it becomes clear that he doesn’t quite get that in a negotiation the other side doesn’t really care if he fucks himself. I guess I can see where that attitude might come from when your business deals usualy consist of daddy bailing your ass out.

Typical Trumpist strategy – shoot yourself in the feet until the enemy surrenders. Brilliant I wonder why this never occurred to anyone else before?

That whacked me too. How is OUR American companies having lower earnings putting pressure on CHINA? That is Trump Reasoning in full effect.

Ummm, then don’t HAVE a trade war. Why would you hurt your own country’s companies? Idiot……

Individual 1 literally CREATED a problem where none existed before.

I easily foresee the next conflict between China and Russia is going to be who gets to screw Trump next.

“Your stupid trade policy is putting your people out of work and they can’t afford to buy our shit so we’re relenting.”

If that fails, we shall post a scathing memo on the break room bulletin board.

And this, in a nutshell, is the problem with having a man-baby as POTUS.

Yes, because large American corporations are going to lobby the Chinese government?

I imagine it’s like doing a combover. For some people working as a presidential adviser appeals to their vanity, even if objectively it makes them look worse than if they hadn’t.

Read some days ago we sold zero soybeans to China in November. Not one bean. Market totally collapsed, they’ve gone elsewhere, bye bye. Soybeans here rotting in the fields.
