Discussion: WH Denies It Tried To Block Yates' Testimony To House Intel Committee

Hmmmm … who is more likely to be telling the truth … the Washington Post or Sean Spicer?

Hmmmm …

We are well past innocent explanations and coincidence.

Jack Langer, a spokesperson for the House Intelligence Committee, told TPM in an email that “[n]either Chairman Nunes nor any Intelligence Committee staff members had any communication with the White House whatsoever about Sally Yates testifying to the Committee.”

But that doesn’t mean they didn’t have communications about Sally Yates NOT testifying to the committee.

How could you all ever doubt what the White House says?
Since Trump has taken over he and all the little Trumpsters have become the pillars of truth and honesty.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer, in an emailed statement to TPM, called the Post’s story “entirely false.”

How can a story be “entirely false” when it quotes from actual documents?

“The White House has taken no action to prevent Sally Yates from testifying and the Department of Justice specifically told her that it would not stop her and to suggest otherwise is completely irresponsible,” he continued.

We can’t help it if Chairman Nunes (that’s our boy, ya know) canceled the hearing at which we would not have prevented her from testifying because, you know, he had some important, legitimate, and compelling reason to quickly cancel and not reschedule (that he won’t tell anyone what it is - not even other committee members or staff) that just happens to coincide with our secret, unexpressed hope that Yates doesn’t spill the beans.

“That’s entirely false.” (Except for being the truth.)

Spicer’s genre today - more parody or more farce?

It’s true. They never tried to stop her from going. They only tried to keep her from speaking when she got there.

The so-called President has told us that the Washington Post is fake news, so I guess I’ll have to go with the latter.

They’re lying. Know how I know? their lips are moving.

That same Washington Post reported yesterday that the so-called President has publicly lied 317 times in 64 days in office.

Did Nunes really go to the White House to get his info, then hold it until the next day so that he could make a scene of going to the White House to give them the info they gave him the night before, and this is supposed to convince who of what exactly? Effing comical

Around New Years 2017 tRUmp said something that did not compute (I know, which effing one?), he said “It’s very important, if you have something really important, write it out and have it delivered by courier, the old fashioned way because I’ll tell you what, no computer is safe,” (thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/312334-trumps-solution-to-cyberattacks-write-it-down-and-send-it-by) then the stories of the oligarch’s airplane being where tRUmp’s airplane was during the campaign multiple times, and at obscure locations : "Dmitry Rybolovlev visited Las Vegas in late October, then tiny Concord and Charlotte, North Carolina five days before the election in November. His plane was also in Palm Beach on the February weekend when Trump held an impromptu national security meeting in front of Mar a Lago diners.

Rybolovlev once purchased a $95 million home from Trump in a deal that appears to have been brokered by Trump’s secretary of commerce, Wilbur Ross, in order to shelter assets from Rybolovlev’s wife during a nasty divorce. Rybolovlev is also a shareholder in the Bank of Cyprus, where Ross was a vice president until his confirmation by the US Senate. The bank specializes in catering to Russian ‘flight capital.’ http://crooksandliars.com/2017/03/russian-oligarchs-plane-shadowed-donald

I know who has my vote!

Wow! They denied it? Stunning!

We really need to come up with a shorthand for white house denials - save reporters all over the country from repetitive stress injuries (the denials come fast and furious, after all) caused by having to type it up every time they do it.

We are really at the point where every WH utterance that isn’t easily discerned as true (e.g. “the sky is blue unless it’s cloudy”) should be automatically disbelieved. There is no room for benefit of doubt left.

Ms Yates, as acting Atty. Gen. was the attorney for the American people, not the White House.
Can someone enlighten me on how the WH gets to stop her testimony?
