Whistle while you (don’t) work, Donnie

We ask that anyone attending an event do so in a peaceful and respectful manner.

That was inspiring, wasn’t it?

Yeah. As inspiring as a lead balloon.

Especially be respectful to those I regularly insult and denigrate with the sole purpose of making them irrelevant and targets for abuse and injury.

Even more especially to those from outside our borders. We wouldn’t want them to think us uncivilized.

We ask that anyone attending an event do so in a peaceful and respectful manner. You might want to give these instructions to your boss first.

Translation: it is not our fault that the President incited a mob against the media and an attack against the BBC.
It was the campaign’s fault. Deal with it.

Trumpese: We ask that anyone attending an event do so in a peaceful and respectful manner.

English translation: We still want you to knock the crap out of them but don’t do it in front of witnesses or cameras.

And of course, Sarah Hamhock only released this statement after the White House Correspondents’ Association demanded that “president” Trump admonish his supporters not to attack reporters. But of course it took her an hour and a half to get Donnie’s permission to release the statement.

These rally-goers are the ones who go to a NASCAR race and demand their money back if there are not enough wrecks.

Too late, Sarah. That train left the station a long long time ago.

Bull crap.
Giving a thumbs up to the attacker of that cameraman is demonstrably not condeming violence. And there are, as we all know, lots of instances of trump urging violence toward the media. Why else put them in a corral and make them an easy target?
trump should be charged with inciting a riot.

That’s definitely going to cut down on crowd size. :smirk:

I think the bbc should sue trump personally for any injury to their employee.

Mythbusters took a look at lead balloons and if inflated with helium they will float.
Not that I am any kind of trump supporter. It’s just science.

Hmmm…funny how there is nothing (not even a tweet) from Trump himself.

Remember all of those times that Obama had to send a spokesperson out to tell his followers at his rallies not to try to kill members of the media?

You do? Then what pharmacy are you getting your unlimited supply of Sudafed from?

hahahahahaha It’s astonishing that they decided that was worth checking out. I’m not surprised at all that the right gas will make them float.

I’ll have to find something else to associate with a dull thud.

It’s typical. When they absolutely have to say some obvious, voice-of-reason thing like please don’t attack people at the rallies, it always emanates impersonally from the White House. It would be breaking character for Trump to actually say such things himself.

And then when someone DOES get hurt or killed in a wreck during a race, they always act surprised: “Gee, who would have guessed that a guy driving 157 MPH around an oval track for 300 laps with 45 other rednecks doing the same thing would end up crashing and getting killed?!”
