Discussion for article #223804
Texas is a majority minority state. At the minimum it should be a swing state with those demographics. There should be a super PAC that does nothing but run ads on Spanish language television\radio quoting all the bile, racist, demeaning comments from Texas Republican lawmakers (of which there are endless to choose from) - and at the end of the ads urge everyone who is eligible to register and vote to do so.

A pet peeve. I’d instantly fire anyone who made this linguistic mistake. OK, so I’m a pedant.
Johanson ran one of the best campaigns I’ve ever seen in Wisconsin, helping Sen. Baldwin best Tommy Thompson. If this development means that Johanson will return to our state to lend some of her electoral jiu jitsu to the Burke gubernatorial campaign, I’m all for it.
This development means there is a growing rift between Texas Dems and the national party. They are going with a local Texan to run the heat of the campaign now. Though I am guessing Ms Johanson has probably caused a tense situation to become untenable, which is why she is resigning.
It’s tough being a Texas Democrat. Dem POTUS candidates, the DGA, DNC,DCCC and DSCC raise a lot of money from Texas donors but the Texas Dem state and county campaign committees and individual Dem candidates are pretty much on their own when elections roll around.
What a disappointment Ms Davis has been. All the outside money available to her didn’t help her any more than it did Cantor.
Especially with the FACT that if Texas turned Blue, the Republicans could never, EVER win a Presidential election again.
The simple sum of California, New York, and Texas gives an insurmountable Electoral College advantage.
Why they are not going balls-to-the-walls on this is because traditionally, Democrats are great at one thing: Snatching Defeat from the Jaws of Victory. (that and the Third Way Democrats running the party machinery are almost indistinguishable from Corporate Republicans. Just like Wall Street wants.)
I told the the DSCC to pound sand the last time they called me. I asked them why they weren’t supporting Sadler in Texas against Cruz. They didn’t try. All the money went to other seats. It makes sense on one level, but I don’t think they gave Sadler a penny. They should be pummeling Texas with issue ads. Medicaid expansion. Voting rights Texas can be turned. Once it goes, the GOP starts to crumble even as a regional party.
I only donate to individual candidates and the DCCC.
