The problem of course is that Breitbart is not trying to get it right, they are purposely editing information to support a incorrect conclusions for the sole purpose of making more money. They are exactly like tobacco companies pushing edited or fake information about how great smoking is for you.

If they were not using it to mislead what would they use it for? Isn’t that what they do?

You mean Breitbart stole material from The Weather Channel and then edited it so they could perpetuate a lie that directly contradicted the original Weather Channel material so as to mislead Congress and the people? I am shocked, shocked I tell you! And to think these miscreants have the ear of the President-Elect. This must be stopped!!!

El Niño and El Niña aren’t predictable weather patterns… just because we have El Niño in a year doesn’t mean the following year has a Niña… nor are their effects predictable…

yes El Niño can mean lots of rain but not necessarily and El Niña doesn’t necessarily mean dry year.

More of this please. Media outlets need to begin holding fake news propagator’s publicly accountable for misusing, lying or distorting their content. While the readers of those sites certainly obtain their information in a bubble, people that know or speak to them may not, and they need to be exposed to the facts to better inform the factless.

this would have had much more impact if The Weather Channel had aired their concerns live. TWC is one of the few “free” channels in a basic cable package. Plus, watchin’ ain’t readin’ so more people would gain access to TWC’s concerns.

:+1: not so Breitbart will now use my comment as another example of how climate change believers don’t know what they’re talking about because bad spanish… at least I got the ‘ñ’ right…

Sadly, the only place I have heard about this is on TPM. Until Faux Noise reports it, it is irrelevant and uninteresting to the masses.

At this point, I can’t wait for hurricane season to smash into the Confederate states with biblical furor.

El Nino is the flip side of La Nina which can bring warmer weather and less rain, thus continuing the drought we’re enduring. They both have big influences and much focus in the SF Bay Area where I’m from as well as the nearby ski resorts. I’m no meteorologist, but that’s the under 25-word explanation.

I think the person from the Weather Channel who wrote this is well aware of that and was just trolling them. After all there are only two alternatives. They either have an agenda or a complete morons (not mutually exclusive).
