For realā€¦other than the publicity, I have to believe theyā€™re well aware of the fact that most American women are repulsed by the attempt to turn HRC, who was also a victim of her husbandā€™s philandering, into a fellow victimizer/partner in crime. Itā€™s fucking absurd. Publicity and riling the base are the only possible goals hereā€¦they have to know this wonā€™t flip the who-supports-women-more narrative on its head.

Iā€™m angry for Mr. Weiner. He is accused of consensual poor judgment. Bill Cospy is a rapist and a despicable human being. I see no evedence of anti-feminism in the Weiner household. This is very relevant because while Mr. Cosby is in no way associated with the Clinton campaign, Mr. Weiner is, albeit indirectly. The attempt I guess is to connect rapist to guy who likes phone sex (who doesnā€™t?) to Clintonā€™s campaign manager to Clinton.

For Trump to attack Hillary on feminist grounds, furthermore, seems silly. This is mostly because if he succeeds at convincing a feminist not to vote for Ms. Clinton, he will not succeed in a million years in convincing a feminist to vote for him.

This is kind of classic Karl Rove type campaigning. Attempt to neutralize your opponentā€™s strength through smears and innuendo. I think they are just hoping they can keep Bill on the sidelines by making them afraid that every time he appears the conversation will be all about rape and stained dresses.

I donā€™t think it will work, but a very small part of me is starting to fear that it will. Ask John Kerry.
