So Randy thinks Obama votes in the Senate, and when he comes in it’s like this?

If this gets half the viewings that “The Dean Scream” got back in 2004, Paul’s campaign is finished (not that he had a chance in hell anyhow…)

OMFG.

A fifth-rate video production company does an eleventh-rate sketch-comedy-style parody of a traditional low-budget ad because that’s “edgy.” It’s drearily familiar for ages now, boring, pointless, and a complete waste of enough money to pay my bills for a year. I have more respect for an honest drug dealer than I do for the kind of marketing people who talk people into doing this sort of crap.

I don’t agree that it’s “familiar” in the sense of being what is normally done, at all. It makes “Demon Sheep” look like the 1964 “Daisy” ad.

You are pulling our legs.

This may have a few more pomo flourishes in the art direction than the usual, but you must have seen about a million ads over the years that are parodies of some other kind of ad, meant to assure lame people they’re actually very hip and above it all. If you haven’t, though, I envy you.

Wasn’t one of his advisers a WWE wannabe?

If you’re referring to ads in general, sure I’ve seen a few (especially on SNL), but I can honestly say I don’t recall ever seeing one remotely like this in a political context.

I can’t imagine it’s going to reassure the Evangelicals that he’s “one of them,” but I’d guess that wasn’t one of the objectives anyhow. It’ll probably appeal to the Open Carry/Monster Truck Rally segment of the GOP universe, though.

On a related note…

Rand Paul’s money problem
Behind the Kentucky senator’s NSA ‘filibuster’ lies a desperate quest for cash.

The exploding Capitol dome may not have been such a good idea.

Hyper-masculine, misogynistic, military-worshiping, immigrant-bashing fascists who blame a particular religious group for all of the countries problems and are promoting heavily armed militias to support them in their desired violent takeover of the “Government”
Hmmm, where have we seen that before? 1933 Germany?
“This is how Democracy Dies, with thunderous applause.”

Rand just moved a slot or so towards crazy on my list.

Haha, this is great. Just one more step towards President Camacho.
