Seriously, why bother watching Trumpās victory speech tonight? Just watch any of his speeches from the last couple weeks. I could rattle off a āTrump speechā off the top of my head after tossing back a few gin & tonics.

I watched with the sound off. It was all I could take. Whatās with the goof in the flannel shirt/beard/headband (headband?! Sheesh!) just to Drumpfās left? The token hippie? One black face in the rear of the scrum trying hard to be seen, but the guy was too short. Maybe they can move him up front for the next edition.

Agreed. He isnāt giving a victory speech, he has turned it into a press conference. And of course the networks are scared to break away now they have their reporters asking questions.
One thing that has stood out to meā¦
His attacks on Hillary could literally be lifted from Bernieās playbookā¦line by line.
He attacked her for trade agreements, blaming her for NAFTA.
He attacked her for the vote on Iraq
He attacked her for being unqualified.
This idiot is actually going to try to attack Hillary from the left in the General.
And heās encouraging Sanders to run as an Independentā¦which Bernie has probably thought of once or twice I dare say. In Bernieās speech tonight he boasted about how heās drawing in Independents and Republicans. Never have I heard tRump being asked or challenged on his made up shit, or how he will solve the problems he complains about. Heās so un-vetted as a candidate by the media. In comparison, we have everything Hillary has ever done (including things she hasnāt even done, but presumed to have done) asked and answered by herā¦There is no comparison between the two regarding the different treatments each has received by the press. There is still so much fawning over tRump, and even Bernie to some degree. The entire process makes me sick. It makes my head hurt. The media ratings whores are so duplicitous.
Let me just go ahead and dump cold water on any notion of Bernie running as a 3rd party candidate.
First, the deadline for acquiring the necessary signatures for getting on the ballots are rapidly closing. So much so, given how time and resource intensive such an operation is, the time has already passed for that.
Second, a few key states, notably Texas and North Carolina, wonāt even let Sanders (or Trump) on the ballot under their spoiler laws. Those primaries have come and gone and they were both on the ballots for major parties. You simply cannot run a credible 3rd party campaign without being in those two states.
Thirdly, and perhaps most importantly, every state except Maine and Nebraska is WINNER take all. Not majorityā¦winner. Trump gets closer perhaps in national polls with a Sanders 3rd party, but both still end up losing to Hillary on a state by state basis. She doesnāt get elected with a majority, but she does get elected with an overwhelming electoral vote count. And Bernie wonāt win a single state. Not one.
So its not a credible story line and anybody peddling it to you is either clueless or blowing smoke.
As far as the media, we have to realize that we arenāt going to get a break there. They have a vested interest in propping Trump up in the General, because the polling already spells out just how badly he is behind.
Any GOP candidate has to clear 45% of the Hispanic vote. Trump will be lucky if he clears 20%. Not only that, Hispanics are already mobilizing and are extremely enthusiastic about voting against Trump. So expect to see their participation rates increase significantly.
Women make up the majority of the electorate. Trump will be lucky to get 40% of women to vote for himā¦and probably will be well south of that number. His statement tonight at the end of his impromptu press conference is just a sample of how he simply cannot contain himself when running against a woman. It will get increasingly worse, and his polling with women will continue to plummet.
And then there is his ābaseā. Even if Trump wins on the first ballot (and if he doesnāt, he doesnāt win), he is looking at 30-40% of the base is not onboard with him. He already broadcast tonight that he is going to campaign against Hillaryā¦FROM THE LEFT. Trump talking about dissolving NATO, drives even more republicans away. Same with his attacks on trade agreements. And his support of Planned Parenthood. They may not vote for Hillary, but they wonāt vote for Trump. No candidate, in either party can have any realistic chance at winning the General election by bleeding off 10% of their base right off the bat. Trump will be bleeding off MUCH more than that, more like 30% when its all said and done.
So the press is going to be in serious water carrying mode, combined with lots of Jr. High School reporting about Donnie saying mean things about Hillaryā¦and he even pulled her hair in gym!! Their entire business model demands it.
