Well if it was cancelled due to a school shooting here’s something nice to read that happened at a school and for Black History Month.
Yea, how convenient. Given all the news in the past 24hrs, Sarah Hamhock and her boss would have been barraged with a lot of very uncomfortable and messy questions. But in reality, cancelling today’s briefing will just puit them off until tomorrow.
This is a lovely story about an elementary school in Salt Lake City losing the name “Andrew Jackson” and becoming “Mary Jackson Elementary” instead.

How can we have a press briefing now, after this mass shooting in Florida??? We must respect the families of the victims. It’s too soon to address this issue, or any other issue until we’ve allowed a proper length of time for the grieving families to deal with their loss. I believe it only just to not schedule any further press briefings until mass shootings in this country are a very distant memory.
She may have expended more contempt and condescension yesterday than she could rebuild in one day. You don’t want to face the press with any less than total contempt. It’s not that they’ll lose respect for you–that ship has sailed. Instead, she has to convince the boss that she has put them in their rightful place.
