Why? What could they possibly say?

They wish to announce the engagement of Paul Ryan to Donald Trump?

Either a full-throated endorsement of Trump, or to announce investigations into the Obama Adminstration coverup of the abuse and torture of USN sailors by the Iranians. Hey, if they couldn’t derail HRC with Benghazi, try something else.

Maybe they’ll scream the latest example of Obama Derangement Syndrome. Alex Jones is bellowing it on Infowars.

He’s claiming that President Obama had Joan Rivers killed because she found out that Michelle Obama is a transgendered woman and made a joke about it.

These guys get crazier and crazier every day, I swear.

Oh! And never mind BENGHAZI!

But Hillary still killed SOMEBODY!

The GOP Cocksuckers are not only furious because when she showed up at the Benghazi Committee and chewed them up like the Jaguars’ defense, she did THIS too:

Ryan: I am re-iterating that I do not, absoultely do not want to run for POTUS this year. I would like to take my name out of any consideration that Americans so deperately want.

I think that’s it. It was the big story on Faux News all day yesterday and presents their favorite opportunity for lying with impunity, because the information is classified, which affords them and the MSM the ability to go on an elephant hunt…

Not to try and emulate Josh’s mastery of the attack haiku, but this is pretty darn sad.

They are promising to start the appropriations process after they have already blown through two deadlines.

RYAN: “The policy process has just got started”

…even though he has been promising this “policy statement” for months. And was required by the framework from last year to have released two appropriations bills so far. Nothing.

It was a complete fluff job, that has me scratching my head why it even took place.

EDIT: This just continues to reinforce my believe that there will be no spending bills approved come this fall, and we will once again face a government shutdown and go through the kabiku theater of self created crisis management to approve a last minute continuing resolution. Driving GOP approval ratings even lower just weeks ahead of a General Election.

I stand corrected then. Will need to think about what the game is. Could be just as simple as spoon feeding the MSM budget policy controversies to give Derpy-D an opportunity to burnish his conservative economic street cred while getting the MSM all hopped up on imaginary deficit crises and anti-tax rhetoric. Get ready to hear ad nauseum from Very Serious People all about everything “we can’t afford” and how more tax cuts for 'job creators" will magically something.

In a press conference the other day Ryan was asked by a reporter (paraphrasing) “do you think trump is a good role model for children?” His answer began “The question before us is how do we unify something something something.”

He’s unable to be as honest as his predecessor who gave the honest answer

“I don’t know how how you insult two-thirds of American woman, insult every minority group known to man, and expect to get elected,” he said. “There are just not enough white males to get elected.”

Crap.

And here I was, wishing they would announce their mass resignations for the good of the nation.

Disappointed again…

It really wasn’t though. It was more in line of the school children trying to explain why their homework isn’t done, and can they please have another extension? We need to get to work on the Zika virus, but haven’t started on that at all. We need to consider if we should even have a registration for a military draft, but haven’t started on that at all. There were no overarching policy issues, just a lot of very low hanging fruit or completely off the wall pet projects…to which they all said they were very important, but haven’t started working on them at all.

And then Ryan came out at the end and said “We are just starting the policy process now”, to which nobody in the press corps bothered to ask any relevant questions. Like…“Wait, you promised that back in March…why are you just STARTING that now?” or…“Why have you missed two deadlines already in the appropriations framework that you yourself agreed to last year?”

Ya gotta admire our MSM press corpse. It’s not easy to be a fluffer and a stenographer at the same time, what with having only two hands.

The thing is, if Ryan wanted to define himself as clearly the owner of policy after the meeting with Trump…where Trump more or less cleared that path for him…Ryan should have had some actual deliverables to present before calling this presser.

Instead…it was Ryan saying what he has quite literally been saying since he took up the gavel (longer actually)…that he will deliver XXX deliverable tomorrow…and tomorrow comes and goes, and no deliverable. A month later he does it again. And again. And again.

This was just another in a very long string of Ryan promising a deliverable that was due months ago…tomorrow. Even worse, he admitted that they are “just starting the policy process now” (which they probably aren’t…but still) He freely admitted that he has been lying every time he has said a “comprehensive GOP policy agenda” is underway and will be forthcoming very soon.

This is why it was nonsense to even entertain the notion that he was going to be a “white knight” at the convention, or that he will have any juice to run in 2020. He is going to be destroyed as Speaker.

Inside Republican minds, there absolutely has to be a white knight. It’s the only reason Democrats are winning (except for the obvious and blanket cheating that requires nonsensical voter ID laws). Obama was a white knight because clearly it’s all about perception and getting the American people to just blindly follow the most attractive candidate. It can’t possibly be about policy.

I meant going forward, not the press conference itself. Of course the press conference was fluff.

… but sometimes they fantasize that if they put enough requirements / roadblocks in place, strategically limit polling places … maybe they can ‘work the magic’ one more time.

or that he will have any juice to run in 2020

If Ryan truly has any Presidential aspirations, he’s going to have to run as a Senator or governor. The last sitting Representative to obtain his party’s nomination was Garfield in 1880. Not sure that Ryan wants to emulate Garfield’s career path.

Anyway, Ryan see himself as more of a JFK type.

We see voter suppression tactics put into place even more vigorously when they feel threatened.
