Discussion: WATCH LIVE: Gov. Pence Discusses Clarifying Religious Freedom Bill

Discussion for article #234862

All of his comments prior to signing the bill had to do with opposition to gay marriage. Same for the comments of the Republican Indiana legislative leaders. At the signing, all the phony Christian leaders talked about the law as a tool to express their displeasure with gay marriage and gays in general. For Pence to say this is not about gays and not about discrimination is a bald-faced lie. Then again, what else would you expect from these vicious bigots and willful liars who are the “leaders” of the GOP. Racists, homophobic, hateful: This is the modern GOP. Scum.

Watching it now… the moran is sticking to his guns, which is not the best of ideas IMO.

Watching this imbecile attempt to rationalize bigotry is even further down my list than watching Bill-O’s shitty Christian persecution-porn movie.

The point of the bill is already clear, and in no way misunderstood. That’s the problem.

What a whiny, whiny man.

Added later:

Governor, as this is supposed to be about religious prerogatives, just exactly how were you planning to distinguish between bigots who act out of some “religious conviction” and regular secular bigots?

He’s basically saying that the CEO’s that are pulling their companies and/or support for IN are stupid. They don’t understand how “persecution” of Christians is paramount to everything.

I have no doubt, whatsoever, that the legal departments of various companies are going over this law with a fine tooth comb and urging their CEO’s to step back from the brink on this one. No company wants to be tied up in litigation, spending valuable money they could be hoarding elsewhere. This law just puts a bulls eye on their backs as well as would make them look like scum for anyone not dragging their knuckles.

I don’t understand why someone isn’t calling Pence on his bald-faced lies re: this is the same bill signed by Clinton and supported by Obama. Where’s Chuck Schumer when you need him?

The longer he sticks to his guns, the worse it’s gonna get for him.

I like it!

I’m listening to this prick right now and the thing that he’s doing by this press conference is by no means a way to clarify anything. He’s doing PR. He’s doing damage control. Worse though, he’s defending this odious law by saying everyone is smearing the legislators and the state over its passage…He in no way is finding anything wrong with this law, whatsoever. That’s how he’s chosen to clarify it folks. Now he’s going after the media on how its been reported…When confronted, he puts it on the national media even though his own local media has been against him as well. WoW. Plus he has the history of these religious freedom laws all wrong. Phony phuck. Arrogant Son of a Bitch too.

He’s an ideologically bent theocrat. Slimebucket of a Governor. He really is an ignorant jerk. A bona fide homophobe. He’s all yours Indiana.

This is NOT THE SAME BILL signed by Clinton supported by President Obama.

Minority Speaker Schumer HAS spoken out against this. If you look up at the top left hadn corner of TPM, you’ll see Schumer’s response.

Fixed It For You.

Don’t be so eager to try and fix what you haven’t understood. Please read what I wrote again. I’m aware that it’s not the same bill because I did read what Schumer wrote…which is why I brought him up.

His heavy breathing is very distracting. Under some stress Gov. Pence?
