Discussion for article #231979
The lawsuit claims that the clerk failed to conduct the appropriate safety check, according to WKBO-TV.
The bigger question is: Why didn’t this police officer perform his own safety check?
Oh.
Cop. Injury. Gun store.
This case should be interesting to watch.
Oh Jeeeez’! I laughed! ~blush!~ (I feel so guilty.) Gun “experts”!
I hate when that happens to me. Wait, that has never happened to me.
He is quite a gun expert, huh?

One finger at a time…
I’ve been repeatedly told that the police are the responsible, well trained firearms experts. You know, “good guys with a gun”. I think I’m going to have to re-evaluate that claim.
And why did he lose his job because of an injury to his left hand, when he’s clearly a righty?
(snark aside, I’m glad no one - like the people at the other end of the counter - was more seriously injured)
I have no. sympathy. for either of them. Darwin Award candidates. Maybe they can share it.
'There Will Be Blood"
New “Dumb, Dumber , Dumbest” sequel.
If only there had been a good guy with a gun around.
My concern as well. I saw those people at the other end of the counter and thought “good thing this idiot deflected the bullet with his finger”
The chilling part is watching him casually point it at the customers farther down the counter while he’s fooling with it. He’s lucky his finger is the only person to get hit.
Because he’s an idiot.
My Life had stood - a Loaded Gun - / In Corners - till a Day / a fool passed by - identified - / And blew his thumb away
BTW, isn’t the first rule of gun safety that you treat every gun as though it were loaded?
That. Is. Awesome! Gotta remember that one.
While it’s true that the clerk should have conducted his own safety check, so should the cop have also. The fact that the cop didn’t, does not absolve the store of negligence. Why on earth the gun was loaded is beyond me. They should certainly have their license pulled for a while.
Jeez, I’ve slammed my hand in a car door before but that’s got to be worse. Pink mist indeed.
ETA: Too bad there’s no audio.
It’s pretty grim to see a serious hand injury like that. I don’t want to know more, frankly, but I got the impression he was looking around on the floor for the missing bit. Sheesh!
