Discussion: WATCH: Florida Official Repeatedly Dodges Term 'Climate Change'

Discussion for article #234597

One can only hope that FL, where democracy goes to die, sinks someday soon into the Atlantic and is never heard from again.

“I used ‘climate change,’ but I’m suggesting that maybe as a state, we use the term ‘atmospheric reemployment.’ That might be something that the governor could get behind,” he said, as hearing attendees can be heard laughing.

“What issue is that?” Clemens asked, smiling.
“The issue you mentioned earlier,” Koon responded, as hearing attendees erupted into laughter again.

The State of Florida is now a peurile joke at which to snicker and guffaw for the unbelievably childish word game they’re playing. It’s extraordinarily stupid–par for the course in Floridian government.

For today’s understatement of the day, I give you…

FL will be affected if the polar ice caps melt.

I suspect Gov. Luthor is buying up “beachfront” property along the Georgia-Florida border.

From what I can see of this map, the Latino-inhabited areas are GONE, the areas lived in by Muricans are OK.

“Climate Change” is double plus ungoodthink, in GOPese. And, as always, we are at war with East Asia.

Good grief. Why don’t they just start blaming Mr. Nobody for everything and be done with it?

Problem solved!

I’d prefer it to sink long enough to Grover Norquist the GOPers there-- resurface–
and let homesteading begin anew!

Saw this on Chris Hayes’ show last week, in a segment that included his second interview with an employee who’d been disciplined for the infraction:

Literally unbelievable.

I hope not, soon. I own real estate in Florida.

It’s disturbing how accurate that statement is. 2+2 = sit down and STFU.

Good news then! Because of climate change, it is!

Which really only means that the “brown people” will move North. They haven’t forgotten how to walk, like those “sun birds” sitting in their rockers on the porches in Miami.

On the other hands, Republican have one glimmer of hope: Cuba will be farther away from our coast.

Probably you should sell to a climate denier as soon as feasible.

This is so silly and forced. A conversation about race with a Starbucks barista would be less contrived.

It’s not a wholly unreasonable strategy that’s being deployed here. Remember when the nation collectively decided to stop saying “Hitler”, and the Third Reich just kind of disappeared without incident? And like how doctor’s are now recommending you stop saying “cancer” when diagnosed with the disease? Common sense, folks.
