Discussion: WATCH: Clinton Apologized Her Private Email Use Raised Questions

And if she runs against another republican with worse issues?

Republicans these days suck.

End. Of. Story.

So what do you think she did? Send classified material out into the wide world?

What exactly is your issue here, Martin?

I don’t see her losing to a Republican, but this idiocy has made it a closer race.

Of more concern to her should be the primary. Bernie and Biden are making progress, and Biden is not even “official” yet.

If I recall, Hillary had the primary locked up in 2008. Then some of her supporters started the Birther idiocy, and she never denounced it. And then she said dumb stuff like “Obama wants to bomb Pakistan”, implying how “naive” he was, when in reality all Obama said was that he would not tell Pakistan if he knew bin Laden was there and he wanted to do a hit on him. Turns out, Obama had it nailed…and Hillary was just being silly instead if substantive.

Right now Hillary is having problems, and it ALL stems from her idiotic decision to have a private server. Just complete stupidity. “hey, I know the Republicans are looking for a reason to nail me, so here’s an idea, I’ll set up a private server for my state dept correspondence…what could go wrong??”

Closer race to a republican?!!

She had any Republican by a landslide a few months ago. Now she is losing nationally to a few, though electorally still is a little ahead.

Wait. I have to find the fainting couch.

I get bashed for it all the time but the day her team handed over all of the emails printed out in boxes instead of just the server or hard drives with the raw data I knew this was going to be the never ending story. This was botched from the start.

What kind of “information?” Negotiations are obviously presumed to be “confidential,” but so are a lot of other things that are far from top secret. I am skeptical of your claim that any information about them is automatically considered “classified.” I will gladly admit I am no expert on what is and isn’t considered “classified,” so I would just ask you for a source. And a source that documents what kind of “information” you are saying she sent to people she shouldn’t have sent it to.

I do have serious concerns with Hillary’s trustworthiness, but it has more to do with her longtime recalcitrance on issues like marriage equality, her current evasiveness on the TPP and the Keystone pipeline, and her reliance on wealthy donors and in general her total immersion in the status quo / establishment milieu.

She won’t be running against Jeb. At this point the only establishment candidates that can hope to win the nomination is either Kasich or Rubio and she gets beaten easily by both.

Yes, and Biden…and maybe even Sanders…can beat those guys. Biden has not even said he was running, yet he is still polling great. While known as a loose cannon, he is also known as a straight shooter…unlike Hillary.

But Hillary can still beat those guys, remember national polls are only for total popular vote, not electoral. And they are close.

And SHE should have known that too. She should have used a gmail account if she wanted to go private. Not her own server. That was just asking for trouble.

No need to faint. Just get prepped for a closer race than it should be.

What does it matter if the information is just confidential? Confidential information is actually accounts for the majority of violation of information security not top secret or even secret.

But that will be the next position taken by Hillary, " while the information was technically classified at least the majority wasn’t top secret but just confidential".

She won’t be running against Jeb. At this point the only establishment candidates that can hope to win the nomination is either Kasich or Rubio and she gets beaten easily by both.

I really don’t think anyone can reliably predict any of that yet. But I think it’s safe to say that Hillary ought to be doing better given all the advantages she enjoys, including name recognition, funding, organizational infrastructure, endorsements by party leaders, etc, etc. She’s spending millions in places like Iowa and New Hampshire and dropping in the polls, while Bernie is spending peanuts and swept past her in New Hampshire and is closing with her in Iowa. Joe Biden is spending basically nothing and not even running, but seems to be attracting many of the voters Hillary is shedding.

If Biden really does jump in, it could get even more interesting. I have no idea how a three-way race between Hillary, Bernie and Joe would play out, or who would wind up with the nomination. The political junkie in me is hoping very much that he does jump in, precisely because it would be fascinating to watch it play out. The media, of course, hopes for the same, and for a similar reason, except that in their case there’s the potential for both increased campaign ad revenues, and increased eye-balls on screens (and on paper, for those of us who still do that sort of thing from time to time).

What does it matter if the information is just confidential? Confidential information is actually accounts for the majority of violation of information security not top secret or even secret.

As I said, I’m not an expert on what’s considered “classified” and what is not. Just looked it up and you’re right in that something can be “classified” as “confidential.” So, please point me to a source (or sources) that says that all information related to negotiations with foreign governments is automatically considered “confidential.” And then a source for your claim that she transferred such information to someone she shouldn’t have. Also, what the information actually was. Thanks. [Edit: Ha, just realized I made it sound as if I was asking you to reveal classified information…not what I meant! Just meant in general what kind of info was it – like for example are we talking about actual secrets, the improper release of which could jeopardize the negotiations, or mundane stuff that might already be widely known.]

It goes back to my basic premise,p which is people’s vote for President is based mostly on who they like not necessarily who would be best for the job or policy positions.

People don’t like Hillary and never will. I would dump her for Biden as soon as possible. I don’t care for his politics but I rather like Biden as a person and would be that turned off by him being President.

The only tone-deaf thing Hillary Clinton is doing is relenting to the Media’s demands that she apologize. She was probably sick of hearing that question asked over, and over, and over, and over by the media, and there was clearly only one “correct” answer in the media’s eye and they wanted to move past this. The problem, of course, is that there’s a double standard for her, and now they’ll start attacking her for being “weak” for apologizing. Hillary’s biggest weakness is her inability to charm the Press, but with real people, in real situations, she is often quite charming and relatable. Just look at how she empathized with Joe Biden’s comments about his emotional state, or to the VA reporters killed on air about gun violence. The woman cares and is empathic, she just never gets any credit for it. It’s always assumed she means the worst. Yet people like Jeb Bush or Ted Cruz or Donald Trump give really robotic answers, and yet never get called out on it or their complete lack of empathy.

I guess I’ll have to take your word on it, because I’ve never seen it.

We often see only what we want to, and with Hillary, some people just have to see the worst.

She sent classified material to at least Sydney Blementhal, who has no security clearance and was banned by the Obama Adminstration from working with the State department. Futheremore, we have no clue what else she sent and to who because she destroyed over 30,000 emails, she claimed were private. Of course the only way you know they were private and not work related is because she said so.

Hillary is in a death spiral and I hope the Democrats still nominate her.
