Wow, it took me until I was almost 30 to be completely disillusioned with people. I thought doctors, judges, lawyers and elected representatives somehow earned their position, it was all merit. I don’t know if it was good or bad to have not met that bad of an example when I was younger.
On the side, the mayor of my city was my Civics teacher in High School and of course I adored him, I liked school, liked politics even at that age, so the teacher quite liked me, too. He was a pretty good guy and a very good teacher, I have no idea what his political views were.
