Discussion for article #233228
Again? FCOL…I mean, it sounds like the guy was an asshole, but if he was shot in the back, someone should get prosecuted. Period. Is there anywhere on the inertubez keeping track of this shit, aggregating the incidences into a list or even a database and showing that it (at least it appears to me) is almost a daily occurrence?
“We don’t want another Ferguson here in Pasco, Blasdel told The Seattle Times, referred to the riots that followed the Aug. 9 shooting death of an unarmed black man by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, and a grand jury’s decision not to indict.”
Utter BS. Riots? Barely. Plus, the whole point of not wanting “another Ferguson” is not to have the transparent police cover-up, legal fraud and governmental corruptness that was on full display over in Ferguson.
“The 35-year-old threw multiple rocks, hitting two officers, and refused to put down other stones.”
Lucky for this fellow he wasn’t holding a knife, or they might have shot him…
Video of the shooting.
There is not reliable source of data. Police Departments do not have to report killings and the media is not willing to push it. Until the Fed decides to make departments report (and audits those reports), this is what we’re stuck with.
So were they afraid he was going to throw another rock? Remember when the Police would never admit they were afraid of something?
He had mental health problems. He was throwing rocks, turned to run away and shot at 13 times by three different officers, one the supposed training officer for the Pasco police, on a sidewalk next to a crowded street during rush hour. Like Ferguson, it’s nothing short of amazing that no one else was hit.
These cops are failures. In fact, any time a police officer resorts to using his or her hand gun against an unarmed man, they’ve failed. Until we accept this, we will never change the way the police in this country use deadly force.
This is the fourth time in six months that the Pasco police force has killed someone.
Pacso is the poorer city in the Richland-Pasco-Kennewick Tri-Cities in south-central Washington. Combined, the area population is no more than 200K. Lots of legal and illegal aliens there for ag work. Nearby is the Hanford Nuclear Reservation, one of the most polluted spots on the planet. Plutonium was enriched there for one of the two atomic bombs dropped on Japan. Because of it’s proximity to the facility, Richland, the most affluent of the three cities, once had one of the highest concentration of nuclear engineers in the world and a higher per-capita income than did Seattle.
Clint Didier, one-time all-pro tight end for the Washington Redskins during their Super Bowl years in the 1980s and full-on teabagger nut case/federal ag subsidy welfare farmer has run for governor and Congress in the last three election cycles. He farms in the area.
You posted a video of a pack of hounds chasing down and killing a fox.
Where’s the video of multiple police officers in a U.S. city confronting a single human suspect armed only with rocks?
Holy bejeezus, he had both hands up and was clearly surrendering and not a threat to anyone at the moment those pigs pulled triggers. That was straight up murder. I’m guessing we ARE going to have another Ferguson on our hands, because it’s essentially a forgone conclusion that police in the US murder without repercussions.
My Gawd, three policemen cannot figure out how to deal with a man throwing rocks except to kill him. How about one talking to him while the other two circle around and come up on him from his blind side. Too complex for the brain of a cop? WTF. Pisses me off!!!
