Discussion: Warren Says No To Fox News Town Hall, Calling Channel A 'Hate-For-Profit Racket'

Interesting. I would have thought she would have taken the opportunity to make her case to a conservative crowd, rather than dismiss the entire network ( and all it’s viewers) as “haters”. Ah well.

This may not be the best thing for her campaign since there could be Warren voters lurking in Fox’s audience (emphasis on could be), but good lord this woman speaks the truth. In a better world she would be for sure leading the pack.

“Hate-for-Profit Racket…” I’ve not seen a better summation of what Fox is ever. It’s brilliant.

She is correct, and shame on those who have gone to faux news.

Hail to Senator Warren: the best of the lot (and they are generally a very good lot).

Although it will surely be misrepresented she chooses her words carefully to make sure it is Fox ‘News’ Corporation that is the target, not their audience; e.g., Fox is welcome to come and report on her town halls just like any other outlet.

Warren should have accepted the invite. She’s got the smarts to turn around anything Fox might throw at her… She especially needs let these folks hear her message even if it mostly results in confirmation bias.

This is, sadly, as true as what she’s said.

This is you misquoting Sen. Warren in true FOX fashion.

Calculation and savvy has a place…but…

FOX has destroyed two generations of American political discourse. What Liz did was long overdue.

Great line about Fox. So true.

A sound decision. Fox News has lost money in the Trump years. Why help legitimize them when they are paying a price in the marketplace for supporting Trump and advocating for white nationalism? Besides, it draws a clear contrast with Bernie. Warren isn’t pandering to Fox viewers or to WWC views on race/immigration. Bernie does so. Warren’s potential base of support is expanding while Bernie has lost some of his and is static.

I agree her decision. But she is missing an opportunity to call twitler ‘brokeahontas’ on an outlet where most of his followers rabidly tune in.

I don’t think there’s absolute right or wrong about whether to go on FOX or not. Warren’s made “corrupt companies” her target so she’s consistent with her campaign theme by not going on FOX. Some candidates made “reach across the aisle” a brand so they tried to attract FOX audience. They just see FOX in different ways (as an organization vs. as a way to reach moderates) and w

Well aren’t you the voice of reason. Blessings! There are gray areas and we all seem to be dwelling far too much on the black and white of things.

I wasn’t “quoting” her, so the dishonesty is all yours here.

She is effectively dismissing all the people who watch Fox News as consumers of hate and racism, which while undeniably true about many of the people who watch that network, does not strike me as a wise strategy. She would need the support of the Rust Belt. The Rust Belt loves Fox News. This isn’t complicated. It’s just math.

Bernie knows this, and he acted on it. Pity she isn’t.

And…please do not equate FOX with Joseph Goebbels, in terms of RAW POWER…

Compared to the FOX “news” of eye candy women on couches, pastel-colored studios, 24-hr non-stop derp, cleverness, lying at exponential levels, Goebbels’ tinny radio missives might as well be Cub Scouts practicing Morse Code.
