Discussion: Warren Reportedly Visits Clinton Campaign HQ: 'Don't Screw This Up!'

Meaning just what? What a bizarre thing to report when it is so content free.

She didn’t “reportedly visit” the Clinton Campaign HQ. She visited. Crap headline.

And way to blow up something–gotta love those “anonymous sources”.

This post seems to be a transparent attempt to gin up another epic “Never Hillary BernieorBust” bullshit thread.

Just a funny line, I’m sure, among the usual exhortations to work hard, stakes are high, etc.etc.

Sigh…Warren as a running mate doesn’t bring anything to the table that will help Clinton, they are basically the same person (in general, and especially to anyone right of center). Clinton would benefit from a younger, dynamic, non-white person (male or female), and she won’t benefit from an old white male. Warren is in a far better position to effect progressive change in the Senate, as the leader of the progressives she’ll be able to put real pressure on Schumer to keep him from drifting too far to the right, and her seat won’t switch to Republican.

I know people see Warren as a great choice, and I like her politics and her drive, but she really is going to do the most good where she is now. It’s just not worth it to bring her aboard to get the few diehard Berners who will refuse to vote for Clinton (they will see Warren as a traitor and not vote anyways), everyone else will eventually vote for her, however grudgingly.

Probably also meaning that right now the election looks like a gimme, so be careful. Trump can’t win – so let’s us not lose.

In other words, a typical TPM headline.

Disagree. Remember Clinton Gore? But you’re right about the real potential loss in the Senate. That’s a big deal.

For that reason, I’d be happy with Julian Castro.

ETA: Please, please don’t pick that dullard Tim Kaine!!!

I agree. Anyone who isn’t impressed by Elizabeth Warren going all out for Hillary in this race isn’t going to be swayed by her being on the ticket.

“Reportedly”? An “anonymous source”? “Don’t screw this up.” with no context?

Julian was the part time mayor of a mid sized city, just like she who will not be named. Really do not think he would be the “game changer” HRC needs.

Adding Warren to the ticket doesn’t check off any of the traditional boxes but it would bring all of the progressives supporting Bernie into the fold. I like it, but since I first encountered her here at TMP I have been a Liz Warren supporter.

Stupid headline. These people are giving their hearts and souls to this campaign with little pay - they will do great!! Go HRC!

The truly diehard Bernie supporters are a write-off – we should not allow their insane fanaticism to dictate whether or not Warren is asked to be on the democratic ticket. The majority of his reasonable supporters and many HRC supporting democrats are excited at the idea of adding Warren to the ticket.

Not really. It’s friendly advice.

I cannot even say how much it would thrill me to see a Clinton-Warren ticket. Talk about historical.

I really would love this so much.

I’m really torn about this possibility of Warren as the VP.
On one hand, I love her passion and intelligence, she would be a GREAT addition to the team and provide the progressive viewpoint forcefully (not that Hillary doesn’t) and would be a great In-Your-Face advocate for the Democrats.
On the other hand, having Two Women from the Northeast (New York and Massachusetts) on the ticket pretty much guarantees you won’t peel off any of the White Male Midwesterner vote, and you can just forget the White Male Southern vote (not that it has much chance of voting for Hillary anyway.)
It is almost TOO MUCH ESTROGEN.
Would they do the job, of course, and both would be great at it, but the OPTICS worry me. As people they are perfect for the jobs, BUT, you know how the MSM just LOVES to tear down Democrats and this might give them too much opportunity to do so in service of the Oligarchs.
Like I said, I’m 50-50 on this, not hand-wringing about it, just hmmmmmm.
I would support it wholeheartedly, but the Optics worry me.

O, you mean the way the preceding 44 administations were TOO MUCH TESTERONE?

I am far more concerned about geographic balance than the fact they are both women. I can’t think of anyone better qualified that Hillary. Liz brings an old time progressive passion to the ticket as well as amazing intellectual horsepower.
