This is exactly right. Decency doesnât mean being a smiling male in an expensive suit. Decency is a matter of what one believes and does. It is also a matter of calling out indecency when you see it.
I like Joe Biden. But I like truth-telling a lot more.
Pence is not a decent man, but he is a GREAT lickspittle! Give him credit where it is due!!!
What? Mike Pence is not a sterling exemplar of a God-Fearing Republican?
Or, maybe, she meant that he IS!
A decent man isnât afraid to be alone in a room with a woman who is not his wife. The guy was too weird even for Indiana.
Pence: Someday, SOMEDAY, itâll be MY spittle. Then theyâll be sorry.
He was Manafortâs choice and he was part of the transition that installed crooks throughout the Maladministration. There is little chance that he is the lone decent man in the West Wing.
Pence is in the Russia mess up to his eyeballs.
He was in charge of the transition team.
Canât wait for his time under scrutiny for all of that.
No. Not decent.
Maybe âa more believable liarâ is a fair description.
Joe,your time has come and gone,Senator Warren is just stating the obvious.
-
Bad Call, Joe.
-
Relative to what? would be the issue, would it not? Relative to the present day GOP, Pence does not stand out as worse than a number of GOP Legislators.
-
In terms of âbeing decentâ most of those who ARE have left the political arena or died
Pence is in need of conversion therapy.
From a dickhead Christian Trumptard to a human being.
Decency is not standing back and doing nothing -all the while claiming to believe and live Jesusâs teachings - while a completely amoral man tears this country apart. That man would be rightly called a moral coward.
hahahahahah Damn Liz - quit making me like you so much.
No he is not a decent man. There is nothing decent about him.
In all fairness, the bar is extremely low these days. I know an animated wooden child whose nose grows when he lies, and he is more believable than the Liar-in-Chief.
Warren: âNo,â Mike Pence Isnât A Decent Man
And he is not a smart man either, but he is such a good christian.
This is a fundamental issue, not a petty linguistic argument. I believe, and at this point I think most actively aware Democrats believe, that the Republican party is a vehicle of evil, and all who drive it forward are straightforwardly evil people. These are politicians who embrace the destruction of the planet in order to enjoy personal power for a decade or two. That is unthinkably evil. They promote white straight people at the expense of brown queer people. Evil. They undermine democracy not only in this country but around the world. They elect and support a would-be dictator. And thatâs before we get to the regular old corruption, criminal incompetence, reflexive sexism, favoritism of the rich over the poor etc. Any Democratic presidential candidate must at the very least understand this. It may not be useful to talk about it in the terms that I have, but the candidate must be fully aware of the historic danger of the Republican party to the basic ideas of what is good and right that have sustained the progress made by the west since the Enlightenment. Biden clearly is not of this view and in some respects is part of the enablist tendency in the Democratic party that has got us into this mess. Thatâ's one reason why heâs a nonstarter for me as a presidential candidate. He doesnât f***ing get it.
âA cold self-righteous prig who goes regularly to church might be far closer to Hell than a prostitute.â C.S. Lewis.
Well put.
I would still like to know how and why Manafort selected Pence, and how and why that was approved by Fat Nixon.
Am I the only one who suspects that sometimes, when Motherâs away, Pence dresses up in one of the those red Handmaidâs Tale outfits, and dances around the Naval Observatory warbling, âOh G-d, make me fruitfulâ?
