Yeah, but no offense to Warner but he and Burr have been pathetically ineffective by design, and Burr has been complicit in interfering with Mueller’s investigation. So I want the House to go first and subpoena Mueller if they have to. They need to have first dibs to get to the heart of the matter. With Dems in charge of the House Committees, it’s the only way to insure a real check on the Executive at this point.
The fact that Sen. Kennedy wants Mueller to testify has always been suspect to me. GOPers in the Senate want to use Mueller for their usual talking-points, preening in front of cameras and still going out on a limb to protect Hair Furor. Kinda like a big waste of time unless they’re willing to get serious with Mueller’s investigation. Unfortunately, they’re not likely to do so, and they control the clock and they would probably ask him to appear on holiday weekend just before departing on some recess or a Friday afternoon, more like news dump Fridays.
