Obstruction of justice = high crime/misdemeanor = impeachable offense. Congress: ACT! NOW!
Gonna be an interesting week of testimony…
Can’t wait to see what insane tweets come out of it…
Coats once worked at the same law firm as FBI Director nominee Christopher Wray…
I think everything about every damned investigation into Trump will default to finding any plausible avenue to keep him out of trouble and beyond credible attempts at impeachment. Again, unless he’s filmed shooting a baby between the eyes the system let’s him walk. I say he could even be proven to have worked directly with Russian intelligence operatives and divulged state secrets and get off the hook. Mainly because if in fact he did such a thing we’d never find out about it. Congress is loathe to impeach a President. Even the opposing party shrinks from such an extreme action if there’s any other way on Earth to mete out alternative sanctions.
Also, Coats, Pompeo and Rogers will coordinate their testimony and lie through their teeth if needed to protect Trump. Without recordings they have plausible deniability if they stick together.
Really??? How do explain the Clinton impeachment?? Congress certainly wasn’t loathe to impeach Clinton… Maybe there’ll be a pee pee dress some place?
Maybe Coats just doesn’t feel pressured until trump threatens to off his dog.
But really, even the request is unlawful. Plenty of would-be bank robbers have been jailed without getting a cent.
Different dynamics at play here. Both houses of Congress are GOP, and the Senate is not flipping in the midterms. It took a great deal of time and accumulated provocations and revelations to get to Clinton’s impeachment. Sure, Trump could be impeached. I just don’t see it happening.
