Discussion: WaPo: Trump Has Intel Officials Present Daily Briefing Rather Than Reading It

He asks “edge” questions during the oral presentations…

And gets “edge” answers in return. G-d is he dumber than shit. My apologies to shit.

“…talking down to him”?

What, too many multi-syllable words? Overuse of the phrase “as every simpleton knows…”?

Resentment about pop quizzes in the form of international crisis?

What a chump. We’re doomed.

The Post is still overstating what really happens.

The intelligence officials don’t actually tell him anything … they just make sure the TV is tuned to Fox.

The only way to get Trump to really pay attention to the daily intel briefing is to broadcast it on Fox & Friends.

“Trump prefers to rely on oral presentations — featuring graphics, videos and maps —rather than reading the report because that’s his ‘style of learning.’”

I’d suggest trying a different “style of learning” - but, nothing is going to work. Why even bother with the briefings? They are a complete waste of time.

“Other unnamed officials told the Washington Post that Trump asks direct questions of his briefers such as, ‘Why can’t I just pull out of Afghanistan?’”

See what I mean?

Okay I have an actual question here…

What is an “edge question”? I have never heard that term before.

[/quote]Is it perhaps ‘edgy’ - probing, pointed, thought provoking, deeply contemplative?
Or is it more like, “What do you think would happen if I push this Diet Coke off the edge of the desk?”

I am actually relieved that he doesn’t get the “real” briefing. There is no way to avoid talking down to the dolt.

Stupid, stupid man elected, sort of, by the stupidest fucking people in America to do the stupid, stupid things that stupid people think are smart because they’re fucking stupid.

Besides the treason, that’s all there is at the bottom of everything they do and say.

I’m not familiar with the term, “‘edge’ questions.” It’s not intuitive, at least for me. Is it some sort of business speak?

Attention Deficit Disorder. The only thing he’ll sit quietly for is Fox & Friends and then only if he’s given a large piece of chocolate cake with two scoops of ice cream.

Trump is so profoundly ADD that he probably can’t even watch Faux News for more than about 1 minute before he starts doing something else. He a frightening cocktail of ADD, dementia, megalomania and ignorance. I hope the briefings tell him nothing about what’s really going on in the world. They should just be photos of him with stories about his great deeds, anything to keep him away from the nukes.
