Discussion: WaPo: Trump Admin Cuts Back On Obamacare Enrollment Notices

Well, my plan premiums have doubled, as have those of virtually all marketplace plans in Texas, so it would be a bit disingenuous to send out emails saying plans may be more affordable. The premiums for all of the private plans available through the bar association private insurance exchange have also soared.

Thanks Trump!

Some days I almost wish I wasn’t an atheist, 'cause it would be nice to know certain evil persons in the Trump administration would some day encounter a just and righteous god who would give them the eternal damnation they deserve.

Now this is the “upholding the oath of office” that Republicans talk so much about and how they’re sooooo better at it.

Terrifying to consider: the exchange plans, even without tax credits, may still be more affordable than other options.

I hope all the newly uninsured somehow make their way to Mar-E-Coli to have a massive die-in on the front lawn.

Donnie always has the best, most beautiful Soylent Green lawns.

What do yo call a ‘leader’ who willfully and gleefully harms his own citizens?

Run for office- the 2018 elections are just a year away! And if Trump and Louie Gohmert can get elected what’s to stop a qualified candidate?

Become a Precinct Committee Officer, sometimes it’s a Ward officer. You’ll meet with neighborhood Dems and get out the vote. Find good citizens willing to run for office.

Register people to vote. If you need to help people overcome the GOP-led Voter run-around help them do that.

Run for School Board. Make sure Civics is being properly taught. Think a majority of America knows how government works? Just 26% of eligible voters in America voted for Trump and half of eligible voters stayed home last November. Today’s 12-year olds will be voting for President in 8 years.

Run for Mayor, City Council, County Commissioner, Borough Assembly.

Get appointed to your Planning Commission. Know everything going on in your community.

Run for State Legislature or Congress. The next census is in 2020, just over 2 years from now, then we’ll redraw Congressional Districts. Get rid of GERRYMANDERING! Safe GOP seats gave us such intellectual giants as Louie Gohmert and Steve King. In most cases it’s the state Legislature that draws Congressional boundaries. Make it FAIR, OPEN and HONEST!

Overturn Citizens United. Money is NOT speech and Corporations are NOT people- at least not until Texas executes one.
Overturn any voter ID laws that are clearly an attempt to disenfranchise.

In my case (no subsidies), they are.

OK, so we all agree that the Trump Administration wants to deligitimize Obamacare, even if they can’t kil it outright. But what prevents the states from picking up the slack; they have been through the drill for years now. They have lists and email addresses for everyone who ever had a policy. They have all the same local organizations that have done the outreach/flaking for sign-ups in the past years. There are local radio and TV stations, churches etc.— and I know this is a radical notion, but there are mayors, city council members, state legislators, and governors who could get off their well padded asses and start walking their constituencies, personally getting people to sign up.

Trump: We want people to save money by not buying health care. Too many people have health care. Its only for the very elite who have golden toilets.

Money isn’t an issue. Everything is in place from prior years; all the organizations that did the outreach in prior years can do it now. How much money does it cost for the Governor and Democratic officials to open their mouths, stump their districts and bring staff along who can open their computers and get people enrolled. In fact, the money issue cuts the other way. Every ACA enrollee brings federal money into the state. Democrats ought to stop bellyaching and start doing things.

It sucks when you make too much to qualify for help my price quote was over 600 a month and that is one with a 4K deductible

Medicare for all.

Elections have consequences.

Isn’t this old news?
